You're my harbour in the raging sea.

University Week 5
Omg, just realised that my mid-terms are nearing...

I was complaining to my O'weeker senior Aloysius about having mid-terms for three modules, and he replied with me "huh so many?!". Did I make the wrong choice in selecting my modules?!? But ohwell, there's no room for regret. I'm going to ace this shit. No more procrastination. *determined*

And I hope my determination lasts. Hahahahas! :/

Day 17:

Went for another Research Program (RP) with Amanda, and whoopee! we managed to get a total of 15/24 points already! 9 more points and I want to get it over and done with it soon! P.S. Realised that we super damn chiong, and I'm actually secretly gloating because others only have a pathetic 4 points. Hahahahas! (:

GES1003 lecturer was a little boring today but his interesting videos saved it. (: Happy day because my day was short - I only have this two hour burdensome lecture on the day, perhaps I will pon next week's. Oops! :P

(With my buddz for 6 years)

Travelled all the way to Bugis to meet my best guy buddy, Kenneth, for a movie. (: He sucks for watching Inside Out without me, and we ended up watching this not-so-famous movie called No Escape.

(No Escape)

(Hurhur, I wanted to watch this!!!)

It was actually fine, I guess. The movie was on this American family who went to Thailand (the father was sent by his company to work there) but unfortunately they were caught up in the Thailand riots/protests. So the entire movie was quite action-packed as it screened how the family tried to escape the war. The storyline was !@#$/^&*() uninteresting, and the fighting scenes weren't that exciting. :/ Feeling sore over it because I could have spent that $8.50 movie ticket on Inside Out!

But hey, this guy. He knows me best out of all my guy friends. Hahahahas! (: Even though recently we haven't been talking much via Whatsapp, I'm glad that we still keep in contact. He's the only guy who understands the real me, free of any facades. :D Cheers to our 6 years of friendship! (P.S. He's still as childish as ever)

Day 18:

EL1101E lecture today, and it was freaking important because my group is supposed to do a presentation on it during tutorial. I'm elated that we chose this topic (we actually anyhow choose one because we don't understand what are the options), and I'm proud to say that I actually understood much of the lecture. Cheers to a good start! *throws confetti and opens champagne*

And I really need to take a pill for courage omg. Went for my GES1003 tutorial without participating in class again. Arghs, yanqi buck up! There's class participation points, what the hell are you doing?! I. Really. Need. Courage. To. Talk. The opportunity must be right also luh :/ Sighpie. Why is this so hard. I miss JC days... Three more tutorials = three more chances to talk. I really need to up my game. I will, definitely will talk during my next tutorial. Arghs. Stress much.

No other activity for the day because I have too many things to settle. Like my GES1003 project. LOL, what am I doing now? Blogging instead of typing my report paragraphs. Hahahahas...

Anyways, on a side note, congratulations to HX for passing his driving practical. There comes my new chauffeur! :DDD

You got me treading on the water
'Cause I've never learned to swim.
Now I know that it's all over,
I better learn to start again.

Head back to your own haunt, and you'll find a missing piece.

3 September
Mummy's Birthday

(Mocca almond cake)

Happy birthday mummy! (: Thanks for being the strong pillar of support for 19 years of my life. Hope you like our little cake and coffeebean treat!

Another reason to satisfy my cravings for a cake. Mocca almond cake from Prima Deli which is one of their newest creation, whoopee! It is nice! :DDD

(Coffeebean birthday treat!)

Hahahas, Coffeebean's all-day breakfast platter is worthwhile for its money! You cannot really see any empty space on the plate (except for the eggs ben), and it was really quite filling! (: P.S. I ordered their Southern Blend iced tea and Swedish Berries iced tea, but apparently I don't know how to appreciate iced teas. LOLOL! :3

Ohh, and it was Sungyeol and Sungjong's birthdays a few days ago! :DDD

27 August: Sungyeol's Birthday
#Happy_YeolDay

(My cutest Sungyeol)

3 September: Sungjong's Birthday
#happy23rdJJONGday

(Hahahas, Sungjong so cute after kena smashed by his birthday cake!)

And yes, he has the same birthday as my mama. How cool is that! Hahahahas! Once an inspirit, always an inspirit. INFINITE hwaiting! ♥

Yeah you filled up my glass,

with promises that could never last.
And I still find pieces of you
in the back of my mind.

You lift my heart up when the rest of me is down.

Cheers to the end of yet another hectic week! However, this must have been the best week so far, and I am happy! :D

(Ripped from chibird.tumblr.com)

Day 12:

Attended a Research Programme (RP) myself because lazy Amanda was just too lazy to come to school. But I'm glad that I met two kind souls whom entertained me for ten minutes before the start of the RP (because we were all too early LOL) :D

Then went for my GES1003 lecture a tad too early so I started reading my Malay Studies Chapter 3 notes. Lecture ended interestingly because there were more videos than content, but I was too tired and I didn't even talk much to Jinyi. Lmao! Why can't they have webcast for this?! It is stupid to go to school just for 2hours arghs. :3

Day 13:

EL1101E lecture sucked because I totally caught no balls. But then again, Hexuan was commenting that since when I catch balls LOLOL! :/ Slap him arhs!

After which, I had my second intense GES1003 group discussion (without Rich again) at the Science block (pats myself on my back for not losing my way). But the discussion was fruitful and we finally assigned roles and everything (cheers to progress)! :D

Then met up with my dearly missed O'weekers Gladys, Minghan and Chenhui for lunch (only saw Rachel and Joey for awhile because they were rushing for tutorials), before rushing for archery with Amanda after her tutorial. I think we became closer with our archery senior/coach, and I'm happy. But he ought to stop laughing/bullying me. I did something embarrassing! :3

Day 14:

Attended a super early session of RP and met Huixia by coincidence. (: Complained to her about my stupid PL1101E tutorial and we just chatted about life. We need to meetup over lunch soon omg!

Went for a nice buffet lunch with my mama after her health checkup @ Chilli Padi Nonya Cafe, located beside the NUS Sheares Hall. Learnt a vital lesson that day as well: we should not trust the GPS wholeheartedly. We walked what resembles a mountaineous trail complete with slopes and stairs, before realising that we can just walk straight. T.T Seriously. Good exercise before the buffet because then we can stuff ourselves more. LOL! (:

(Very clean and sparkling)

(Filled with Nonya decorations)

(A beautuful place)

(Curry chicken and lontong)

(Laksa and meesiam)

There ain't much selections, but the food is undoubtedly delicious. I love the beef rendang and meesiam especially. :D

(Wide variety of dessert!)

(And my favourite)

We stuff ourselves silly. Hahahahas! (: Nonya food are generally on the expensive side, but this cafe's buffet lunch is only $19.75 nett. Good deal! (Y)

After which I went for our very first Project Embrace meeting along with Amanda with mixed feelings. :/ Excited because it is my first project, yet finds it burdensome at the same time. Lmao!

Didn't contribute/talk at all because I am 慢热 towards people, and also because they are all older than us (which made it even more intimidating, especially since I have absolute zero experience in planning). But I have to admit that I am full of admiration towards Longyuan because he burnt midnight oil to do out our proposal and it was as detailed as hell. I am impressed. (Y) If only I have such people as my project mates...

Day 15:

Longest day ever with 5 hours of lessons and plenty of RP that day :/ Perhaps next time I'll consider pon-ing the MS1102E lecture since it is webcasted and I can go home earlier. Lmao!

My EL1101E tutor is being cute again (but I don't think she makes a very good tutor though) except for the fact that her lessons are entertaining and she really tried her best, but still...

Day 16:

It's Friday, Friday! *cues Rebecca Black's Friday* Cleared 3 RPs today and gotten 4 points, ohyeahs baby achievmentunlocked! Go yanqi go! You can do this! :DD

Attended PL2131 computer research finding session organised by the CLB as well and met Marcus by surprise. Thankfully it was only him and not the entire psych OG. /heaved a sigh of relief/

People say university students have to learn to balance the three S - social life, study and sleep. This week I spent too much time on my social life. Next week I will twist it back to one-third each. Come'on, yanqi can do this!

We go out on our own.
It's a big bad world outside.
Carrying our dreams and all that they mean.
Trying to make it all worthwhile.

Cause we are ordinary people beautiful as we are. We can still get lost, lost.

Blogging on the go today.

(The evening skyline)

Sighpie. Days like this made me want to get myself a camera because I want to capture these pretty landscapes in their most beautiful forms.

(And I spotted Avalon again)

Avalon: the place filled with memories as I had my virgin clubbing experience here during Arts O'week.

Some visuals below that I took last Saturday at the NTU Fest @ Promontory, Marina Bay.

(Julie Tan)

(Elvin Ng)

(Nat Ho)

(Rebecca Lim)

(Shane Pow and Zhang Zhenhuan)

(Xu Mingjie)

(Fang Weijie)

(Dalshabet)

(More of them!)

Although I'm not the typical fangirl who chase after stars, it was still great to meet them. And I was quite close to the stage?! Hahahahas! (: Excited me, and I got fire burning in my heart as the celebrities sing and dance. LOL!

It was a good day with my mummy and meimei, despite me feeling saddened by the fact that I missed the Singapore Night Festival. Sighpie. Feeling all green with envy as pictures of the night festival flooded my instagram feeds. It was really super pretty!!

(Night)

Taking in the breathtaking view as I breathed in the cool night air. Loving the sensation as the night breeze caressed my cheeks.

But the main focus of today's post is this:

(Guess who!)

Look closely.

Deputy prime minister Mr Teo Chee Hean!?!

Hahahahas, he was the guest-of-honour of the orange ribbon run that was taking place at the other side of Marina Bay. And I swear he's damn tall?!

My only regret is not asking to take a photo with him.

I can remember the good old days,
when you and me used to hide away
where the stars were shining or
the sun was blinding our eyes.

Stop existing, and start living.

(那些年,我们一起喝的 Starbucks)

Pissed.

Sometimes, I think myself as a genius because I survived school by myself. How come my sister cannot do the same and just kept bombing me with questions?! It is not as though I don't have other things on hand.

University is as busy as it is, and I'm so shag from staying out so late for so many days. The mum is nagging me for all sorts of reasons excuses. Sighpie. I'm tired of life already. Can someone please save me? :/

Life goes on, it gets so heavy.
The wheel breaks the butterfly.
Every tear, a waterfall.
In the night, the stormy night,
she closed her eyes.
In the night, the stormy night,
away she flied.
She dreamed of Paradise.

You make my heart feels like it's summer, when the rain is pouring down.

Continuation:

Day 9:

Attended PL2131 lecture with Amanda and Hsuwen, and we saw Lash again. (: Lecturer was teaching a new chapter but I am catching up bit by bit. Perhaps because people around me all commented on how bad she was, I guessed I had made sufficient 心理准备 so I found her to be exceeding my expectations. She knows her stuff well at least, and after attending her third lecture, I am beginning to understand her accent better and it is not too bad.

Immediately after the lecture was my PL2131 tutorial, and the lecturer took the first lesson. We were taught SPSS, a software often used by psychologists for research purposes. I must say, it is too much for my brain to absorb because I am a technological noob. Thanks Amanda for being the mountain that I can rely on when I am lost during lesson. Hahahahas! (:

Went for my Rotaract sub-committee interview whilst Amanda headed for her next tutorial. And LOLOL, I think I messed up a little hahahahas. But whatever, I don't care anymore. Thanks Amanda for helping me and Minghan for thinking that I seemed as though I have the capability to resume such roles, it is really an encouragement. :DD

(Update: I got in my third choice, publicity department, for the Rotaract's Project Embrace. Not sure if I will enjoy it since it is my third choice after all. But ohwell, I shall accept any challenge that come my way. Hahahahas!)

Day 10:

Thursday blues. Met up with Amanda earlier for subway 1-for-1 (cheap cheap!) for lunch, before heading back to school for five hours of lessons with only one hour break in between. :/ My life....

But yay, good day because I met up with Huiqi for dinner at Jurong Point! (: Saw Xiaofang around also, so it is like double happiness. That feeling when you saw your old good friends (Y) Bliss.

(Swensens for us)

(Not forgetting dessert!)

Complained a lot about university to Huiqi because we haven't met up for ages. Feels good to have someone to drown my sorrows to, lest I really turn bonkers from university. And I'm sorry for the lack of human photos these days. :/ I forgot to take selfies with Huiqi again, lmao!

Day 11:

Worst day ever because I went to walk one round in hell before coming back. T.T Most stressed tutorial ever in my entire 19 years of my life, and it had to be a psychology tutorial. Arghs!

Long story cut short: I felt dumb and useless in the tutorial because my classmates & tutor are like damn smart?! How can people memorise the entire chapter so fast and even went tutorial without notes?! Omg, amazing. Come I give you a clap. :3

The only comforting words that I can tell myself now is to convince myself into thinking that those people studied biology before, and I have never touch it before, so it kind of give me a reason to not know the contents well. LOLOL! Self-deceiving much. And I suddenly realised the importance of biology. Bangwall.

Thankfully that my first Malay Studies tutorial went well and it ended much earlier than expected and the class was pretty chillax (at least I don't feel dumb and useless even though I didn't contribute anything).

'Cause our two
Hearts will make it easy
Joining up the pieces
Together making one.

Thursday, August 27, 2015

It's yesterday once more.

(Ripped from chibird.com)

Tormenting week 3 of university, because tutorials started this week and it meant that I have to start following my lousy 5-day work week timetable. Sighpie. However, thinking on the bright side, I placed 3 of my tutorials on odd weeks, which means that next week (even week) I am free-er! :D Whoopie!

Day 7:

Went to school as usual for a 2h GES1003 lecture, and after that we held our first GES1003 project discussion (without our fifth member, Rich, because he is way too busy T.T)

To be honest, I don't really like my group, because I guess our views differ quite a bit, and our personalities don't really click (only Jinyi is on the same frequency with me). But on a positive side, they are hardworking and contribute much to the project, which is good. Having slackers in your group is the worst thing ever.

BUT next time try not to get Faculty of Science (FoS) people as your members because ums, their timetable sucks and it is very tiring to schedule meetups with them. Hahahahas!

And yeahs, girl X of my group said something which made me super pissed off. I have to say this: even if you are in FASS, it doesn't mean your analysing / writing / critical thinking is good. Because yeahs, it doesn't imply to me. I went FASS purely because of my interest, not because I am 'gifted' in the above attributes. :/ So put away this notion please. Zzz.

I'm sorry for those who already heard me rant for the umpteenth time, this shall be the last time already. Unless someone / something provoked me again LOLOL! :/

After which, I met up with Manda to head over to Trybe welcome tea. The events sound cool and I wanted to join, but after thinking it through, with my Roteract and Archery on hand, I don't want to overload myself by taking up a third CCA. So yeahs. I wasted my time attending the welcome tea. LOLOL! :/

Reached home pretty late that day on a school day, at around 9pm plus. And I am dog tired. Oh, Monday blues. T.T

Day 8:

Finally early (for once) for my EL1101E lecture. There are relatively lesser people in the auditorium, oops, all pon arhs?! Hahahahas! (: And yeahs, the lecture is still as boring as shit.

(Saporo: Italian cuisine)

Then Amanda and I met with Zia for lunch at Saporo something, UTown. And it was definitely a wrong choice made. I'm never stepping into the restaurant ever again. Omg.

The food are super expensive, ranging from approximately $15-$25. Yeahs, I know that's the average price for Italian cuisine, however since it is located in a school compound, shouldn't they sell it cheaper or something? :3 The pizza that we ordered tasted not bad, but because the crust is very thin, it is not filling. So cries. :/

After which I attended my first tutorial in university (GES1003) with a half-filled stomach. The lessons went on fine. The student teacher went through the concepts and then we discussed with our groups for a bit before presenting. And this guy from my group he presented EVERYTHING by himself, so my other group members doesn't have anything else to add on, which is bad. Because there's class participation points. Sighpie. :/ But anyways, off-topic, fact has been proven that if you are alone in a class, the chances of you making friends is higher.

Went on to recreational archery training with Amanda after that. And yay, because it rained before that, there's no sun! Phew. I don't want to get any tanner. Hahahahas! (: Enjoyed my first session, but I think I am still not skilled in setting up a bow. Hope the remaining five sessions of archery be good to me!

You're the clearest sky in the darkest weather.
There was a big rain cloud hanging over me.
You came along like a lightning bolt from heaven.
Then you stole my heart and you set me free.
