So you could give me wings to fly, and catch me if I fall.

Happy 11.11 everyone!

Hahaha, super excited because there is so many sales online and I am happily carting out items. But guess which idiot accidentally carted out two exact same tops and two exact same pouches. Wth, even I cannot believe myself. Ohwell, and my wallet is crying~

(Soup Base)

(Many, many meat)

Joined the family for dinner at Shilinfang because the cold and rainy weather made me craved for something hot and soupy, LOL. Everything is nice, and we had mango shaved ice for dessert thereafter, :D I'm loving chill days like these.

(Mango Shaved Ice Dessert)

Anyways, guess which idiot had been using her sister's A Level worksheets as rough paper for the past one week before finally realizing today T.T Wth I cannot believe myself again. Stupidity at its finest, zzz. In the end I confessed to my crimes and kena whacked badly by her. Oops, I'm so sorry gosh half the answer keys were missing and she ended up have to photocopy from her teacher again T.T

(Assam Milk Tea)

Tried the Assam Milk Tea the first time I travelled to Taiwan, and I have fell in love with it ever since. I managed to find this retailing in BreadTalk outlets! And we were also back to Gaincity for a simple dinner after such a long time. We all agreed that their standard for the food have dropped, x.x

(Dinner over at Gaincity)

Ending this post with a countdown: two school days, two exams, one presentation and one group report, before I officially graduate. T.T I'm sobbing silently.

It's not the flowers,
wrapped in fancy paper.
It's not the ring,
I wear around my finger.
There's nothing in all the world I need.
When I have you here beside me.

Thursday, November 8, 2018

Baby, you have got the keys to my heart.

Happy day because JH got me a bottle of liangcha and some mixed fruit nuts for breakfast. Energy fuel food to last me the entire day :D I'm so glad that I am finally done with one presentation and two article submissions for my financial journalism module. A few more assignments to go before I really graduate T.T

Headed to Populus Cafe with my secondary school pal Vivian Phang! It was located at Tanjong Pagar, which is just opposite the Police Cantonment Complex. It was overall a super expensive meal that costs approximately $20 and to be honest, I didn't really like it because there are too many #vegetables at the side. LOL.

(Heirloom Rendang Donburi - what a fanciful name)

Tried a mouthful of the Chicken Rice Donburi that Vivian ordered, and thought that it tasted slightly nicer than mine. But then again, I don't think the food is any special also? Her bowl comes with chicken cutlet and onsen egg.

(Close-Up Shot)

This rendang bowl was limited edition, according to the menu. LOL. Good marketing technique - I ordered this precisely because it was said to be limited edition. I googled their menu online, and it said that this donburi comes with "homemade heirloom recipe grass fed beef rendang, Peranakan archar, pickles, carrots and Japanese rice". It was fusion food that tasted fine when eat it separately, but not fine when I eat it together. >.<

(Swiss roll that was made from gold)

Accompanied Vivian to the Grassroots Book Room thereafter, because it was just nearby. It has the same concept as the reading room cafe, which means you can grab any books off their bookshelves to read over a cuppa coffee or some sweet desserts. Sounds great, but I am not a book lover so it really does not appeal to me. LOL.

Shared this Swiss roll with Vivian which cost us $7 a slice wth. Daylight robbery is it. They don't have a display for us to choose the cakes, so we just ordered off the menu and this was what they served us. LOL, I was in shock seriously.

Boycotting the cafe. By the way, they have this resident black cat that just runs around the cafe and it scared the hell out of me because it was so swift?! Like it will just jump off bookshelves onto the floor, so x.x

Your love is like the sun,
That lights up my whole world,
I feel the warmth inside.
Your love is like the river,
That flows down through my veins,
I feel the chill inside.

But forever was just a word.

Doing something I usually won't do - eating breakfast outside - because I cannot wake up so early. Hahaha, these few days have been insane. I have no idea why am I so exhausted, but I slept for more than 8 hours consecutively for two days. LOL, and that is not a privilege that university students have!

(Breakfast)

This week's Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was interesting because it was not the usual tutorial whereby we just sit around and discuss whatever topic. For this week's tutorial, which was also my last tutorial, we had this Qigong practice where we learn the various moves of the 八段锦. Hearsay this is one of the common Qigong practice that is meant to help improve your health :D

The master was damn professional LOL She is super stable and has superb balancing skills, and I paled in comparison T.T Anyways she is quite hilarious because she kept asking her disciples to help her take photos - photos of her teaching the class, photos of her demonstrating the various moves LOL. And she kept asking the class to pose for the photos. Puke blood, you come here teach or you come here promote your business ah?!

After the lesson, I met the mother and sister for dinner at Ichiban Sushi. They serve good food and good service. 10/10 will go again!

(Salmon Sashimi Don and Chicken Teriyaki Don set)

(Close-Up of the Food)

(Various sushi and hand rolls)

(Beef Don)

(Mango Mochi)

Feeling super annoyed because my Ichiban rewards card expired before I managed to claim my free food?! I already collected sufficient stamps omg T.T Arghs, first world problems you face when you don't check your loyalty cards diligently...

Maybe all we need is just a little faith.
Cause baby I believe that love will find a way.

Actual happiness always looks pretty squalid in comparison with the over-compensations for misery.

The Koufu at Yew Tee Point closed down my favourite Hungry Jack stall but it was replaced with Fish & Chicks! Marvelous, because the store received many raved reviews and it was even featured on mstamchiak's food blog. Yay, it's time to try new food again!

(Whole Spring Chicken with Minted Yogurt)

$11.90 super worth it! I shared the food with my mummy and sister because they are so generous with their portions! The skin is crispy, yet the meat is tender. It kinds of get jelat towards the end, but nonetheless I think it is worth the price!

(Mentaiko Pasta with Grilled Mentaiko Salmon)

$10.90 for this bowl of pasta, and I'm sorry but it looks (and tastes) pathetic. Do not try their pasta, I repeat do not try their pasta. They are famous for their salted egg sauce, so perhaps I will try that in the future!

(Ripped from Wikipedia)

Also, I watched the movie Johnny English Strikes Again a few weeks back with Clement, and the movie didn't disappoint! The show was about Johnny English (played by Rowan Atkinson), a current geography teacher and retired agent who was reinstated for a mission. Many of us would have already known the actor from the 'Mr Bean' serial, but he is still a super 'joke' character in the Johnny English movie. The action comedy was so freaking hilarious, and I kept laughing and continually spill my food all over the cinema, LOL. I rate this show a 10/10, Clement and I love it so much!

(Ripped from CapitaLand.com)

By the way, I brought a burrito from Stuff''d into the cinema. It was my first time ordering from the eatery and I am quite shooked by its taste! It tasted so much nicer than subway, and it is definitely more filling (but slightly more expensive also, but it is so worth it)! Thanks Clement for the recommendation~

(Cheesecake Bingsu)

After the movie, we headed to Nunsongyee Korean Dessert Cafe for some bingsu! I was supposed to celebrate Clement's birthday, but we ended up ordering my favourite flavor - cheesecake bingsu - instead. LOL. #notsurewhois #birthdayboy

Happiness begins with your smile and let your smile change the world, my dear friend. Happy belated birthday Clement!

Have you ever been in love?
Like a lion and a mermaid?
Actually, I’m not an expert at playing with fire.
I try to avoid getting burnt.
There’s enough anxiety in my life.
I don’t want to add on more worries.

One day we will learn to love ourselves.

Time flies, and it was already Week 10 of school, which also meant that I still have three weeks more to go before I graduate (officially become jobless). T.T The grass is always greener on the other side, because right now I am dreading graduation. I hate having not plan my life at all. Arghs.

(NM4883D Groupmates)

Throwback to the summer break where happiness still exists. Finally met up with the groupmates for dinner at Din Tai Fung after so long. Two of them are already working, and it is soon my turn to join them yikes. They seemed to be enjoying work though, and I aspire to be like them LOL. Jiayous everyone, we can all do this!

(Beef Brisket Noodles)

I also met Hui Qi to eat Hong Kong Wanton Noodles for dinner at erm, Hong Kong Wonton Noodles. That is legit the name of the restaurant, and it is located at Plaza Singapura. LOL, I ordered the beef brisket which was supposed to taste nice but personally I don't really like wanton noodles so... And it also looked a little unappetizing hmm... T.T

(Roast pork and chicken)

Bukit Batok has a super delicious food stall selling roast pork and roast chicken, so my family has been visiting the hawker every two weeks? LOL, talk about humans being habitual creatures, we always go back to eating the same food we think is delicious.

(Black Soya Ice Cream)

I got a black soya ice cream from Mr Bean a few weeks ago. It was quite funny because after I bought it, there are 2-3 people who flocked over and asked me if it tasted nice. LOL, I guess people are naturally attracted to exotic stuff - I mean what are the chances you will see ice cream that is grey in color rights? Mr Bean should thank/pay me because I helped them to attract customers just by standing there and eating my ice cream. :D

(Wedges)

Also, waving goodbye to my pretty wedges. I decided to wear it out after so long but I guessed I didn't take care of it well enough because it gave way T.T I love this pair though!!

You know one thing about memory?
You don’t just keep the stuff in your head.
It’s all over your body.
One night I woke up with a pain on my shoulder
and I realised how much I missed
the weight of his head lying on it.

With midnight closing in, you take my hand as our shadows dance, with moonlight on your skin.

Mid Autumn Festival

Marking the end of the autumn harvest, the festival was traditionally held to give thanks to the gods. It is also the time of the year when the moon is at its brightest. The folktale has it that Chang'E drank the elixir of immortality in order to save her people from her husband, a merciless king. She then ascended to the moon, and ever since people has been worshipping her as a Moon Goddess.

(Sunset at Hort Park)

Met JH at Queenstown MRT before heading to Hort Park together. We timed ourselves so as to reach our destination at the right timing to see the sunset! Breathtaking, hehes. We saw a couple taking their wedding shots there as well. Damn sweet of them!

(Hiking in the midst)

(Henderson Waves Bridge)

Reached Henderson Waves Bridge after ~45 minutes of hiking. It was a nice feeling with the breeze caressing my face. We stopped there for quite some time, taking in the view. It was super therapeutic!

(The nicest toilet in Singapore)

(Reflection)

We continued hiking and finally reached Mount Faber, the place in Singapore which has the nicest washrooms! They were fully glass enclosed, so we get to see panoramic views of the Mount Faber hill. Unfortunately, it was dark when we reached so the view wasn't that fantastic. I recalled that we were able to spot cable cars in the day the last time I went!

(Iced Teh Cino)

Hiked down the Mount Faber hill in the dark, thankfully I have a iPhone with super bright flashlight to save us LOL. There were no bus services because it was a weekday, and the worst thing was that there wasn't any street lights either. Halp. Hehes, thanks JH for being such a great navigator and that we managed to walk out alive hahahaha!

We walked out from the exit facing Vivo City, and had dinner at a hawker center beside Vivo City. I finally get to eat my Char Kway Teow and carrot cake! I cried tears of happiness when I found that there was a drink stall which sells my favourite iced teh cino! It was horrible ever since NUS UTown changed food court vendor, and they no longer sell iced teh cino T.T

(Disney Tsum Tsum Lantern Installations)

Since we were already at Vivo City, we decided to drop by the 'Disney Tsum Tsum Mid-Autumn Celebration of Love campaign' (aka lantern installations) located at the rooftop level of the mall. It was quite crowded, but was quite worth it because the lantern installations was a sight to behold. They have many Tsum Tsum themed lanterns lighting up the night sky (and many kids as well)!

You could offer me the sun and the moon,
and I would still believe that
you gave me everything
when you gave your heart to me.

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.

Saw this super cute quote by playwright Alfian Sa'at:

"HDB life: One takes the stairs and the elevators up
to be brought back down to Earth"

Reasons why I love to stay in HDB. :D Friendly neighbours and beautiful views (correction: used to have, because now they were rebuilding the secondary school near my house, and freaking hell the school is so tall now that it block my sunset view T.T).

(Minced Pork with Basil Leaves)

(Tom Yum Seafood Soup)

Tried a new restaurant Kinmoo with JJ! I'm back to Bugis again hahaha, LOL I realized I am forever heading there whenever I meet my friends for meals. This is the first time we are eating Thai together, hehes excited!

Sorry for being useless but I really cannot take spicy well - thanks for accommodating to my request of asking the kitchen to make it less spicy LOL! This is the very first time that I actually finished drinking all the tom yum soup HAHAHA. The spicy level was just nice for me. But guys, don't visit the restaurant. I have tried nicer Thai food at other places. Oops.

(Japanese hotpot)

(Meat lover)

Shabusai Buffet Lunch with the mummy! Japanese hotpots are the best; I love the shoyu hotpot base especially! Sadly there wasn't any student deals, but I would gladly pay to eat this LOL. We ordered 10 plates of meat for just the two of us >.< Worthwhile rights? Hahaha! I really enjoy days out with the mother because we always get to eat good food yesh!

Stuff your eyes with wonder, he said,
live as if you'd drop dead in ten seconds.
See the world.
It's more fantastic than any dreams made
or paid for in factories.
