Amazing things happen when you distance yourself from negativity.

Decided to revamp my blog to celebrate this joyous month of April. Change is the only constant lmao. (:

(Ripped from Photobucket)

Typing this in the comfort of my bed as the thunder roared and lightning split the sky. I love to sleep during rainy days, very cooling. (:

So...

I'm glad that my yeye's condition has improved. He is looking much better now, and today he even managed to gesture to me when I went to visit him. That's good; one must have the will to live and not give up on life. Please do get well soon! It pained me to see him suffering the past few weeks, tossing and turning because of the unbearable pain. The heart-wrenching feeling you have when you are unable to do anything except to see the pain engulf your loved one is just horrible. Kudos to my yeye for pulling through this.

On a happier note...

I went on a night movie and supper date with my lovelies two days ago - Seah, Weina, Moehan and Yangfan. We watched The Con Artists, a korean film. To be honest, I didn't know beforehand the movie is screened in Singapore. Hahahahahas!

(Symmetry is absolutely detested!)

(Poster)

The movie plot was so-so. The tricks that they have up in their sleeves seemed very common in such a movie genre, so it doesn't interest me as much. But the plus point is that the male leads are freaking hawt, especially Lee Hyunwoo, omg.

(Kim Woobin)

(Lee Hyunwoo)

(Cutesy Lee Hyunwoo)

Hahahas, I hereby declare my new found idol - Lee Hyunwoo. Now I can be more sure that I prefer guys with single eyelid. :DDD

Updated: To a certain someone who had been copying me - my style of writing, ripping off my insta photo, and even changing blogskin when I change - YOU DAI. Hahahahahas! (:

Like a predator and prey,
He'll tear my heart away,
He'll chew me to the bone,
and leave me rotting here alone.

When a lovely flame dies, smoke gets in your eyes.

Say hello to April! (: It is my favourite month of the year, because it means that my birthday is nearing. Lmao! Presents please! Yet I'm not really looking forward to being 19, because it would mean that I will reach the big 2 soon, and along with it comes responsibilities. Nooooooo. I still wanna be a small kid. Sighpie. :3

And yeahs today is April Fool but it doesn't feel like it because there is nobody to prank me, and this kinda make me miss my class and my class jokers, specifically Hongwei and Prash. LOLOL!

Anyways, just found this ancient post that I typed long ago. LOLOL! (: Shall just share it less it become a waste.

Café-Hopping with Vian :D

Back to Holland Village, which is like my second home now. Omg. I've been here umpteen times ever since A's ended and sadly to say, I am a little bit sick of the place now. LOLOL!

First stop: Craft Bakery & Café

(YAY to good food!)

(I love my giffen)

(Prawn Aglio Olio)

Only ordered a dish because we weren't hungry. It was a little bland at first, but the taste got better the more we eat. The prawns are fresh, but I'd prefer D'Good's. Hahahas! & wts, they got service charge, so the prices weren't net. :/ Arghs!

Second stop: Mu Parlour Café

A place known specially for their desserts though they serve main courses too. (: I was actually super excited for this because I had read some good reviews on it. And you know my love for desserts... :P

(Zesty Lime Tart)

(Pumpkin Tart)

(Passionfruit Cheesecake)

So every Tuesday, there is a 1-for-1 promotion for tarts. (: Thank gawd for this, because these small tiny sweet desserts are freaking expensive. $8 for a dessert that is smaller than the size of your palm. T.T But yeahs, they ran out of lemon meringue tart (which I excitedly wanted desperately to try). Their Zesty Lime Tart is not bad. Their Pumpkin Tart is just so-so. The Passionfruit Cheesecake is creative but the taste is a bit weird at first taste, though it gets better the more you try it.

Third Stop: D'Good Café

(Green Tea Latte with Red Velvet Cake)

Back to D'Good Café. I think this is the best café for desserts in the entire Holland Village. Or maybe it is because I have a fetish with green tea latte recently and they have it. Hahahahas! :D A more plain latte art this time, but it still tastes good as usual. My virgin try for this Red Velvet Cake and it tasted not bad tooos though I preferred the Maple Seasalt Cheesecake. Hahahas! We stayed and chatted till the café closed and we were forced to leave. LOLOL! :D

(My very first Infinite album!)

(My Sungyeol photocard)

Hahahas, anyways Vian went Taiwan and got me this lovely album for a souvenir which got me so hyped up! :DD Hahahas! Despite not getting Woohyun's photocard, but Sungyeol's my second bias, so still #happykid96. Hahahas! && many thanks for lugging home my pastries and 铁蛋(which I have serious cravings for) and my Lowry Farm clothes. LOLOL! 辛苦你了! ♡

I love my giffen. Cheers!

But as if to knock me down,
Reality came around.
And without so much as a mere touch,
Cut me into pieces.

Count the memories, not the calories.

Hooyah! (: It has been a gloomy week last week, but optimism is more of my style, so... throwback to 26 March 2015. A special day to celebrate the birth of an annoying person aka le babysis. :DD

After much selection, we decided on a high-tea buffet @ Goodwood Park Hotel. Partially because it is a buffet that can be refilled (y'know some hotels call their buffet a buffet but actually they serve you a tray of desserts and that's it, so it is actually not a buffet, and I wonder why they call it a buffet to mislead people?!). Anyways, it is my very first high-tea buffet so I was actually freaking excited the day before. Mwahahahas! (:

(The exterior)

Hahahahas, the hotel looks akin to a palace rights! But only the exterior looks like it, because the moment I walked in, I felt as though I had just walked in a museum. T.T There are gigantic paintings and photos of famous (?) people and stuff. :3

Zeng zeng zeng!

(Fried Food)

(Bread puddings, creme brulee!)

P.S. The lighting very nice horhs? But it is just for show only. Hahahahas, I walked in to take pictures of the food before the buffet starts and the chefs/waiters on the light for me, guess it makes the food looks more appetising. :P Their service is good. Hahahahas!

(Croissants and sandwiches)

(Pastries)

This is how the food looks like after I finished my phototaking session. Hahahahas! (: Still looks good without the lighting nonetheless!

(Chocolate-y desserts)

(Multi-tier (?) Desserts)

Hahahahas, I felt myself salivating once again. Geez, that place is literally heaven! I have no more regrets. LOLOL! (:

(Memorable croissants and sandwiches)

Even though sandwich is a food that is easily available, like the 7-11 stores, somehow their sandwich is very memorable for me. Hahahahas! The bread is super soft and literally melts in your mouth, and the sauce that they use is like a secret receipe. Geeez. I'm craving for some now T.T

(Favourites)

Hahahahas, sweet treats! (: Albeit being too sweet, I still love biting on them. Hahahahas! On cloud nine.

(Fried food)

Waseh, nuggets, potato wedges, popcorn chicken, and some seafood thing. Finger-licking good omg. But I didn't take a lot because I don't want to die so fat. Hahahahahas! (:

(Overview of whats constantly on our table)

(A cuppa tea)

(Espresso)

Little did I know a cup of espresso is like so freaking small -.- Hahahahas! (: One person is entitled to two drinks, and being a mocha fanatic as I am, I ordered a hot mocha and an iced mocha. It is even better than Starbucks because I find Starbucks a little too sweet. Hahahahahas! (: My sister got a hazelnut drink and a macchiato, whilst my mama ordered a Sweet France tea and espresso.

Psshhh, the aroma of the Sweet France tea is damn alluring omg. I'm in love with it!

(Colourful plate of fruits)

Hahahahas, their fruits look super appetising because they come in all kinds of colours and shapes. :D Brighten up my life, LOL!

(Le sis with her sandwich craze)

(Sweet pastries!)

Once again, happy belated birthday to my dearie birthday girl! (: Hahahahas, I sponsored all her make-up products for her SYF performance as a birthday gift. LOLOL! WHEN I DONT EVEN HAVE ANY FOR MYSELF.

(Durian Rainbow Cake)

(Durian strudel, cakes and puffs)

Walked past a shop in the hotel and spotted these fanciful sweet treats that made me gasped in awe. How nice if I were to have a durian rainbow cake for birthday! But it. Is. Freaking. Expensive. T.T

Hahahahahas, and before I forget, it's Infinite's Hoya's birthday on 28 March!!

(Birthday boy!)

Charming smile. Electric shock. Hahahahahas! (: A great dancer who is always awkward around people. Lmao. But still cute nonetheless! ♡

No silver or no gold could dress me up so good.
You're the glitter in the darkness of my world.
Just tell me what to do, I'll fall right into you.
Going under cast a spell, just say the word,
I feel your love.

Dreaming dreams with happy endings.

(Ripped from Google images)

Pitter patter. Pitter Patter.

It is raining now as I type this. Just like how it rained during the 1968 National Day Parade. Then, the participants for the parade marched 8km under the pouring rain to celebrate this special joyous occasion. Our then Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew had warned them of the gloom they will be facing beforehand, yet the participants had the indomitable spirit and resolve to complete the parade despite the storms.

Today, we will wave our final goodbyes to our beloved nation father. The sky is tearing up, and yet it did not rain for the past 4 days when thousands of people queued to pay their final respects at the Parliament House. Even the sky feels for him.

To the people who braved the heavy rain to line on the streets today, I commend them for their resilience and perseverance. It depicts a scene of proud Singaporeans sending Mr Lee on his last journey.

With utmost respect, we will eternally honour our beloved nation papa.

//

Updated: And I'm glad that I am lucky enough to catch the funeral procession (I was actually on my way home from the NUH when I saw a line of people and I decided to join them. And within minutes, I managed to witness the gun carriage driving past). Mindblown.

On a side note, I am grateful that Amos Yee was finally arrested by the police for his malicious delusional insults on Mr Lee.

A lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of a sheep.

(Ripped from Google images)

What makes a good leader? Well, in my point of view, a good leader is someone who is morally upright and honest, someone who is confident and make decisions based on practicality rather than popularity, someone who anticipate changes and stay relevant, someone who respect people and earns the respect of people.

It is hard to find such a leader, a leader who do things for the sake of the country instead of succumbing to personal interests. Yet in our tiny country, such a great leader did exist. He was not just a leader, but a great leader who sacrificed his entire life for the good of our bustling city. He did more than what was expected of him, because he had the passion and will for his homeland, Singapore.

He is none other than Singapore's very own Minister Mentor Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

From his roles of a Prime Minister, to a Senior Minister, to Minister Mentor, he did not only performed his duties well, but did much more than what he was supposed to. Without him, Singapore might still remain as a little red dot that is unheard of.

Mr Lee helped Singapore gained independence and to be recognised at an international standing. I mean, look at the multiple conflicts between Taiwan and China. I'm glad that there is peace and harmony in Singapore. It is a safe city. With Mr Lee's great foresight, he implemented various policies to lead Singapore to stay at her peak and not lose out to the other countries. From diversifying the tourism sector, to beautifying our environment with trees and flowers, and even picking up Chinese to keep up with the expanding China industry, he helped Singapore advanced to where she is today, from a tiny red dot that nobody gives a damn about, to a first-world country with established ties with the greatest nations in the world. I'm grateful to be born on this piece of soil under his leadership.

Although at the point in time during the implementation, many may have disapproved of his thinking and doings, unable to understand his intentions, but hey, years have proved that he is right. He helped us to prepare ourselves for the battle in front of us.

The fact that many renowned world leaders from all over the world, such as the US, UK, Australia, SouthEast Asian countries and even Bhutan, came to pay respects to him, shows the level of respect Singapore (represented by Mr Lee) commanded.

What I admired about him the most is that he is a man who does not just talk with his mouth but actually showed it with action. How many of us actually read the newspapers daily? I don't. And he read it in three different languages everyday - English, Chinese and Malay. How many of us adopted the 活到老, 学到老 spirit? I don't. And he actually attended a 2 hour Chinese tuition everyday to discuss current affairs in Chinese with his tutors. How many of us persevere to live a healthy lifestyle despite busy working lives? I don't. Yet he 'run' on the treadmill everyday without fail. He was, and will continue to be, a good role model for everyone of us.

An iconic figure of Singapore. The architect of modern Singapore who engineer our country to be one of the best in the world. Mr Lee Kuan Yew is Singapore, Singapore is Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

//

We initially planned to pay respects to Mr Lee on Friday night. We left the house at around 12am thinking that nobody will think of queueing at such a late hour. But yet, in the middle of the journey, we U-turned back home because the Padang area was so crowded that queues were stopped temporarily.

And since we were already out, we went for supper at Macs because that was the only place that is open 24 hours daily. Ate a burger and some fries, and feeling fat. :/ Then headed down to the CCK community tribute site (my second time there within a week), and wrote my condolences. I nearly broke down but I didn't want to do it in public. Hahahahas.

Slept for a few hours before heading to BBDC for my BTT practice and evaluation quiz. Got 67/70 which I wasn't quite satisfied, but ohwell. I passed the quiz, and this marked a mini celebration because I can finally book my BTT test, which is like at least 2 months later. Ohboy! T.T

Then went for a short visit over at the NUH (my grandfather was hospitalised) before making an impromptu visit down the Parliament House. The queue was shorter than my friends', and I finished in 4.5 hours. Cheers, I'm glad that most people are well-mannered (no pushy pushy), showing our true Singaporean spirit.

Everything happened in a flash inside the Parliament House. We took a bow and was quickly ushered out by the guards. I didn't even have time to get all emotional and stuff, but my heart did feel numbed. Afterwards, we headed to the shop Grandma's for dinner, which is finger-licking good, probably because we were all tired and sore from all the waiting.

(Grandma's)

But yay. I left feeling satisfied. No regrets. Thank you Mr Lee for everything I get to enjoy, like the food above. Hahahahas! :D

Memory is a diary we always carry with us.

(Ripped from Instagram)

"I'm no longer active in politics. It's irrelevant to me what young Singaporeans think of me. What they think of me after I'm dead and gone in one generation will be determined by researchers who do PhDs on me.

I did what I thought was right, given the circumstances, given my knowledge at the time, given the pressures on me at the time. That's finished, done. I move forward. You keep harking back, it's just wasting time.

I have no regret. I have spent my life, so much of it, building up this country. There is nothing more that I need to do. At the end of the day, what have I go? A successful Singapore. What have I given up? My life."

-Mr Lee Kuan Yew

Thanks for being an inspiration. Rest in peace, Mr Lee. You will be fondly remembered.

You have my respect.
