Patience is key. Beautiful flowers take time to bloom.

Thoughts on Y3S1

Time flies, and in a blink of an eye, my fifth semester in school has ended. It has been the hell of a roller coaster ride this semester, and I have never felt so tired in my life before. I guess I am losing steam and all my fighting spirit. T.T

(Ripped from favim.com)

Started the semester on a bad note because I was forced to drop NM3230 after two weeks of lessons because there were insufficient tutorial slots for me to bid for. I had to go through so much trouble to drop the module and take up a replacement module. I 'reported' to the NM office every single day to request them to process the system quickly but they were still taking their own sweet time until I emailed my professor and tutor for help. The problem here was not because I kanchiong/kiasu, but the fact that I already missed two weeks of lessons for my replacement module (NM2201) and that there was no webcast available. I have to catch up rights? If not everything will just snowball.

From individual assignments to projects and exams, I screwed up every single component of assessment for the replacement module T.T The content for NM2201 is so heavy that I thought that it is a level 4000 module in disguise. I felt much regrets for not heeding Amanda's advice to drop this module, but then again, I also blame it on the NM office for forcing me to drop NM3230. Perhaps if I continued on with NM3230, I would have done better.

I guess I have a love-hate relationship with my professors.

I think I have generally nice professors and tutors. I purposely chose to take modules under Aaron because I really like him as my lecturer. He is so naggy, but he really helped us a lot for our project. I am really grateful to him.  Thank you. It's so annoying because he wouldn't be teaching next semester - he converted to full-time PhD student. :(

Secondly, I would like to thank Nick for being so nice and helping us so much with our videos and films. However, I just hope that he can give us honest feedback so that we can improve rather than just paying us compliments all the time then 'stabbing us in the back' (I had a shock after checking my gradebook).

Lastly, my psychology professor Nicholas is really a good lecturer. He really is. His explanations are very clear and well-explained. I think I learnt the most from this module out of all the other psychology modules that I have ever taken. But he scarred me for life because he always call me during tutorial LOL.

I'm proud of myself for surviving PL3233 with me, myself and I alone. I really hated the tutorials because my lecturer-cum-tutor will always pick on people to answer questions and his questions are all so chim that my bird brain is unable to provide me with answers (and he calls on me every week).

But then, I am glad to have two 'friends' whom I always sit with during tutorials. At least there are familiar faces that give me security whenever I go to tutorials to fight battles. I call them 'friends' because as I was typing this blogpost, I realized I didn't even ask them for their names LOL. Wth. My bird brain is at it again. But I guess we won't ever see each other again, because this is the very last psychology module that I will be taking. LOL. What a bittersweet feeling.

Sighs. No idea why everything seemed so much more difficult this semester. All my modules seemed to be much more taxing, much more difficult, and much more demanding. x.x

That sudden realization that my newly-made friends will soon revert back to being acquaintances.

The biggest (and only) takeaway from NM2201 is Edmund. He is my project groupmate for NM2201, who also happens to be in the same tutorial class as me for NM2209. I'm grateful that we took two modules together - at least I have a friend to go to lessons with. However, just as we were starting to get closer, I feel bittersweet because we wouldn't take any modules together ever again. So I guess we are back to being acquaintances?

Jeanette as well. I attended NM2209 tutorial alone yet I'm thankful to have met a nice groupmate. Jeanette is so on-task and we quickly finished preparing our presentation slides in like three days? LOL. After five semesters in school, I really learnt to appreciate efficient groupmates much more. But again, I guess next semester is her graduating semester, so we probably wouldn't take the same modules ever again. Why are university friendships all so fleeting?

I also met new people whom I grow much much closer to, although I'm not sure how long this friendship will last.

I am super glad that Regine is in this shit with me together. I am suddenly more grateful than ever to have embarked on the Korea Summer School programme. If I didn't agree to staying with strangers (LOL, I ended up sharing an accomodation with Vivian, her friend Jiashu, and Jiashu's friend Regine), I wouldn't have known Regine. And then I will be suffering alone for the rest of the semester, taking modules alone.

It was pure coincidence that Regine and I took three modules together, and we were even groupmates for one of the modules. I practically lunched with her everyday because I see her around four days a week? Thanks Regine for putting up with me and for being my friend. This was the first semester that I didn't feel so alone in school. LOL. We should meet up often with Jiashu and Vivian as well!!

And also, Belle. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to work with her for two projects. She is more than a project groupmate, I'm really appreciative because she often advises me on many things, be it school, work or life in general. She makes me see things from new perspectives, and I often get a lot of insights from her. She is ever so selfless, so willing to share her experiences. Simply talking to her often give me the impression that my thinking has matured. LOL!

I'm grateful to have met Lianjie on my Korea summer school exchange as well. He's an idiot, and I like annoying him, so he became my self-proclaimed best friend during the trip. LOL! On a side note, I was editing my Korea trip vlogs but the software kept crashing on me halp. T.T

Old is gold. I love the fact that I can be myself whenever I'm with my old friends who have known me for a few years. They keep me sane.

This semester, I dragged Yanlin and her friend, Koey, to attend CP2201 with me. It was an easy module, but the only thing that I found annoying is that lessons end at 9.30pm. It was really tiring, especially when I have a long day. But it helps that CP2201 lectures got more interesting towards the end. (: I'm grateful to have them with me because I was struggling to understand all those chim chim financial terms LOL. I suck.

For the first half of the semester, I was happy to have Vivian Phang as my lunch buddy in school. I'm sorry for pangseh-ing her for the rest of the semester because I forever am using whatever breaks I have to work on my video projects. But I'm glad that she is still there for me. She's one of the few secondary school friends whom I still stay in contact with actively. LOL. Feeling really blessed.

The friends who stood by me as always, thank you Amanda, HuiQi, Vivian Ng, JJ, Longyuan and Clement. Thanks for being the constants in my life, for encouraging me, for entertaining me, for making me feel that I'm not friendless after all. (:

Also a huge thank you to my NM friends, Dewei, Chermin, Jamie and Licheng, I'm sure that I had drifted away from y'all because we didn't take modules together. But thanks for thinking of me at times, remembering me and asking me out for badminton, for meals and trips. I might not be able to join y'all often, but I really appreciate y'all for asking :D

Life is never smooth-sailing. There are bound to be up-and-downs.

Indeed, I too have my fair share of ups-and-downs. Sighs. I hope that things will get better in the next semester.

Heart heals and love lives on.

Merry Christmas everyone! :D May you feel the love this special day!

(Flashbang 2017)

To be honest, I wasn't in the festive mood this holiday. LOL, no Christmas celebrations, no Christmas logcakes and no Christmas presents because I'm flying to Taiwan. Sighs. Maybe I will get myself a logcake over there instead to celebrate? Hahaha! :D

There seemed to be much more Christmas events and celebrations this year though! The more prominent events being the annual Christmas Wonderland, Flashbang and the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival! I only managed to visit the Flashbang this year because (1) I refused to pay entrance tickets to Christmas Wonderland (2) I don't really like rides so I don't fancy the Prudential Carnival LOL.

And yup, I decided to drag my entire family down to Flashbang. It was advertised to be the Singapore's first and largest creative retail playground with neon light art installations and live music. Sounds interesting yeahs? LOL, to be honest I was quite disappointed because the space was quite small and it wasn't that interesting. Maybe I should have went with my girlfriends instead, and we can go crazy with face paint and glow sticks and glitter. LOL!

But no doubt, there was a lot of shops selling food and drinks that are super interesting! I saw some shop selling unicorn tears and it looks damn legit. They have glow-in-the-dark candy floss as well (super creative idea to use glow sticks as the candy floss sticks LOL), and unicorn ice-cream and much more! A total eye-opener hahaha! :D

(Bee Tai Bak)

(Cantonese-style Hor Fun)

On a separate occasion, I stopped by SGMY for lunch after a good table tennis session with JJ. Maybe it has been too long since I last touched table tennis, but gosh I was so lousy LOL >.< So anyways, we were at Yishun Sports Hall so we decided to head opposite to the what-used-to-be-the-bottle-tree-village place for lunch.

To our delight, they serve Singapore and Malaysia delicacies! The food taste fine and interesting in some way, but the service sucks and the price isn't exactly cheap as well. After GST and service charge, one plate of food amounted to $10.40. Hmm... Oh right, there's no aircon also T.T But okay, it was a good experience and I managed to see many people prawning!

(Cold Stone Creamery)

First time trying this but whoa it was so nice! I think this is now one of my top five favourite ice-cream parlours hahaha! And I was so impressed to see the service crew tossing the ice-cream around, like throwing it in mid-air to another service crew to catch. Gosh, what if the ice cream drop out!! Cool shit omg.

(Flashbang again)

Since we were in the vicinity, I went to check out Flashbang again. I realised there was a difference going there in the day and at night LOL. There were more offers and promotions in the day, such as buy-1-for-1 from 3-6pm. LOL, I got a big cup of green milk tea in the end for $4 only. It was really huge! Happy buy! And it still taste good (not diluted at all) after I lugged the whole cup home for my family LOL (because I couldn't finish it).

Merry Christmas once again! :D May this festive season sparkle and shine, may all of your dreams and wishes come true, and may you feel happiness all year round.

Nothing is great like friendship on Earth,
No jewel, no pearl has got its worth.
No one except a friend can be trusted,
Your life will never get rusted.

Saturday, December 23, 2017

Your current situation does not have to be your final destination.

After 21 years of existence, I think I can be very, very sure that I am somebody who prefers shopping malls and city areas LOL. T.T Unless I'm dragged out by people to go somewhere else, then I see it more as an obligation than an enjoyment. Sighs.

(Shao Bao)

Food all the way from Malacca! The family went there (without me) during my reading week because I was busy studying for my finals. T.T University life sucks. But then again, it was peace at home when they were away. Hahaha! I had the whole house to myself, and I can finally study in peace without someone nagging at me incessantly (ahem) :D

The year is coming to an end in a few days' time but I still have a lot of backlog to clear. Why oh why. This year passed too quickly, and I barely had time to myself. I'm either hanging out with friends or doing housework/springcleaning at home. Sighs, sometimes I wish I can go holiday in a cave for a few weeks to organize my thoughts. Ahhh.

Last weekend, I dined at my favourite Tzechar restaurant Hong Kong Street (Novena) with the family. The service was terrible that day because we didn't make any reservation (it was decided last minute) and the restaurant was so crowded even at 8pm wth.

While we were waiting for a table to be wiped clean, a child just ran over and chop it. Wah thanks. Afterwards we found another table, but the waiteress said that seat is reserved. T.T In the end, a family pitied us so they quickly finished the remaining of their food so we could have their table #grateful

(Sliced fish soup)

This is an all-time favourite hahahaha! (: I usually order this dish whenever I head there. Anyways, we decided to get rice to complement the soup, but the waitresses didn't see our raised hands, wth we ended up walking to the kitchen ourselves to get the rice. Zzz, so annoying. >.<

(Prawn-paste Chicken)

This has got to be mummy's favourite. To be honest, I have never seen other restaurants that sell prawn-paste chicken as good as this! For someone who don't like chicken wings (me), it takes a lot to say that they are nice.

(Hotplate Tofu)

Love this as always, and the plate looks bigger this time hahahaha (: Cheap thrills.

Happy people focus on what they have. Unhappy people focus on what's missing.

"When one door closes, another opens"

I would want to believe in this. No, I should believe this.

I wouldn't say this was a pleasant experience, but I feel that nonetheless it was a good learning point for me. I think I have grown much from this incident. I learnt to be more independent, but most importantly, I start to understand myself better. At least, I have a better idea of what I want to do in the future (and what I don't want to do).

The root of the problem boils down to miscommunication and lack of rapport. It takes two hands to clap, so I admit that I did not play my part well also. Being a communications student, I say this is a good learning point because it allowed me to experience firsthand the impacts of ineffective communication.

(My biggest takeaway, Natalie)

It was a bad incident that I will never ever want to experience again. But despite all the bad happenings, I am still grateful to all the nice people I met. Small little acts such as sharing food may be a small matter to someone else, but it matters a lot to me. It makes me feel appreciated, and that my efforts were being recognized. It makes my heart warm and fuzzy, and that's the reason why I joined them in the first place.

I'm thankful to all the friends that I've made during my short stint.

(Dearest Natalie, I saw the words "twelve cupcakes" on the packaging, but why I only receive two?! LOLOL!!)

To Natalie, Chongyi and Anis: Thanks for looking out for me and taking care of me. Even though we only see each other that few times in a week because of my part-time schedule, thanks for staying by and making me feel a sense of belonging. Thanks for standing on my side. Even though we are powerless, thanks for restoring my faith in humanity once again.

To love without knowing how to love wounds the person we love.

(Ripped from Tumblr)

I still think of you occasionally.

But today, for some reason, I miss you exceptionally.

I hope you are doing well.

She is strong but when you had her,

We didn't realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.

I'm sorry that this post came exactly one month late. I was having exams then, so I was too lazy to draft it out hahaha! Oops, forgive me. (:

(My bestie and I)

Happy belated birthday to my dearest bestie Amanda Seah - my aunt agony, my human hugger and my 出气桶 LOL!! Most importantly, my constant companion for the past few years (minus the past six months because you were away for exchange sobs).

(Throwback to the time when we returned to AJC as J5s)

Hahahaha, thank you for being my biggest takeaway from JC. (: What would I do without you? I still remember the times whereby I always pester you for answers because I'm forever stuck with my homework. LOL, and I always ask you for advice about everything. Thanks for encouraging me on and not giving up on me, and shaping me into who I am today. :D

Throwback to the time we returned back to AJC this May. Everything still looks the same but Amanda was suffering from memory loss because she mixed up the locations of the canteen stalls gosh. How can you forget your alma mater?!? We saw many teachers also, but they are still the same after all these years. Mr Bell is still buying coffee in the middle of the lessons (except this time he bought the coffee himself, instead of asking the GP representative to do the job - I was that GP rep back then LOL). Ms Yeo is still very dedicated giving consultations outside the general office. And Wendy Ng is still a fashion disaster HAHAHA.

(Yayoi Kusama Museum Tripping)

Oops I digressed. Back to the birthday girl LOL. This Yayoi exhibition was the last trip I went out with her before she flew for her exchange! I hope she is having fun over there before she come back and face NUS again hahahaha. But of course she is having fun, because she is having too much fun over there that we only Skyped twice throughout the past few months. Zzz. I'm so saddened by your act, Amanda :(

(Waiting for the bus after lunch at IKEA)

She's my favourite breakfast/lunch/dinner partner. Hahaha, with her around, I don't have to eat waffles alone. I am getting so sick of waffles already LOL. Quickly come back and accompany me to IKEA for lunch dates again! I have also been meaning to try The Tea Party at NUS Sports Hall for the longest time, but haven't had the chance to :( Amanda faster come back from your exchange, so we can go on our cafes/kopitiam/dessert-hopping soon! :DD

(Going all crazy at the Singapore National Museum)

Museum dates are the best because we always end up with million of nice pictures. All 'dem sweet memories coming back in a flash as I looked through our pictures together. Hahaha! :D Thanks for letting me feel comfortable around you. Thanks for allowing me to put down my guard and be myself around you.

I hope you had a great day celebrating your birthday! Once again, happy 21st babe!

May the next few months be a period of magnificent transformation.

Took two weeks plus but my module mapping was finally approved! And I also managed to secure those modules already. One less thing off my plate hahaha (: I'm grateful, thank you.

Met up with Moehan and Weina today (half of the JC clique), because Yangfan and Amanda were overseas for their studies, boohoo. Hahaha, guess who was late again. Thankfully I still managed to get Macs breakfast in time because the kind souls helped me order! (:

They are my low-maintenance friends because we only meet up like once a year (oops), but really thankful because our friendship is still going strong. Despite not seeing each other often, we can still joke around and crap nonsense. Hahahaha (: Really, really grateful for them.

Guys, I will book y'all two months advance for Chinese New Year. Hahahaha please make time for me. LOL!

(Egg Fried Rice)

(红油抄手)

Headed to Ding Tai Fung with Huiqi for dinner afterwards. Ordered plain egg fried rice to go with 红油抄手 which is damn delicious. (: Yay!

(Xiao Long Bao)

And not to forget about our favourite xiao long baos! :D

Sighs, now that it's the December holidays, I feel very restless because I have nothing much to do. All I do now is either catching up with friends, doing housework or clearing my wardrobe. LOL, damn sian. Hard to find any jobs/internships also because I'm going overseas soon for two weeks. T.T

Your perspective on life comes from the cage you were held captive in.

It's funny how I am busier when exams are over. LOL. There are so many things piling for me to do. T.T

I'm currently planning my itinerary for a Taiwan trip in two weeks' time, so if anyone have any recommendations please let me know! It's been like my fifth time to Taiwan already? LOL, so I would like to explore those hidden gems. :D The ones that I found on the Internet are quite mainstream hahahas. Thanks in advance!

Celebrated my grandma's birthday last weekend at Tunglok Teahouse @ Square 2. It was located at quite an ulu place seriously despite it being in a mall. I thought it was Saizeriya at first glance, because the colour theme and layout both look the same oops. x.x

(Tender Chicken)

(Mushroom with tofu thing)

(Xiao Long Bao)

(Fried Rice)

(Kueh)

(Chicken feet)

(龟苓膏)

Hearsay 龟苓膏 is good for health, but not everyone likes it. Hahaha, I finally found a food stuff that my grandfather doesn't eat. LOL, they were traditionally made with tortoise shell, but I guess those that we are eating now are just made with Chinese herbs? Not too sure about this though!

Lunch at Tungluk Teahouse was a pleasant experience overall. But it's funny because I have to refill my own glass of water. Not that I am lazy or anything, it's just that I have all along feel that Tunglok is the type of restaurant which would provide quality service to all customers. So it came as a surprise to me when I realized that I had to refill my own glass?

And sighs, I'm craving for Oni (yam paste) so badly suddenly. T.T

Moonlight drowns out all but the brightest stars.

Last paper down and this concludes the end of my Y3S1. Time flies, and I can't believe this is already my fifth semester in school. This semester has been hell of a rollercoaster ride - nothing is going smoothly. I'm just glad that it is finally over. I will worry about my grades when it comes three weeks later. I'm in a terrible need of a break.

Met the mother for a Pizzahut lunch because I absolutely love their student meals and their $8.90 set lunches. But the service at the CCK branch is still as bad, and the cleanliness remains an issue. x.x Sighs. However, the plate of spaghetti seems bigger now! Or did they only upgrade the size of the plate (not the amount of spaghetti LOL)? But anyways, it was nice and warm and good and filling. I am satisfied.

(Garlic Bread)

(Chicken Pomodoro)

(Hawaiian Personal Pan Pizza)

(Honey Wings)

Kind of over-ordered, because we thought that the sister will join us. But it turned out that she already ate, and it was something even better LOL. We managed to finish everything on the plate because food wastage is a nono. Hahaha :D

Went Health Promotion Board the other day with the mother to collect the Completer's Set under the National Step Challenge campaign, (: I was quite excited because we have an exclusive tracker for those people who completed all 6 tiers of the challenge the last season. This new tracker is so much better than the previous one! It looks more chic and there are more functions, such as the heart rate and calories. Yay to freebies!

(Starbucks 1-for-1)

Because the queue was rather long, I decided to grab Starbucks while waiting. Starbucks is back with their promotions for Christmas drinks! We grabbed a toffee nut and decided to try their new flavor - vanilla nougat. Verdict: I like vanilla nougat better! But the mother said it was too sweet. T.T

Anyways, it's funny how we were queueing to get our HPB trackers, like it was supposed to be a healthy living thing, but we were waiting in the queue with a Starbucks in our hands. Talk about healthy.

And I ended up queueing for 3.5 hours which is really damn long. Thank goodness the weather is forgiving, and I have nice aunties to talk to hahaha! We talked for 3.5 hours, goodness. T.T They are quite a funny bunch of people. But the queue was mainly made up of aunties and uncles, is it a sign that that I'm fast becoming one of them... LOL kidding.

Friendly reminder to love yourself.

Feeling so depressed.

Two papers down finally, and one more to go. The past two papers were so tricky, especially NM2201. Wtf, why did people recommend me to take that module and send me to die T.T My mind just blanked out when she specifically asked for theories by specific persons. And I'm just like there's so many theories explaining the same concepts, and I have problems remembering all the theories already, and I'm also supposed to remember who created them? T.T Ded.

I ended up getting a Jumbo ice-cream cone from McDonalds to cheer myself up. It's a new product from Macs and the cone really looks damn delicious in the poster.

($3.50)

Actually it's nothing much. It's just normal vanilla cone drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce, topped with a mini oreo biscuit. LOL, but the chocolate cone taste surprisingly good! It is crispy :D Okay luh, it's nice! I love ice-cream hehehes!

Throwback to last weekend at Pioneer Hawker Center with the family. My mother had always wanted to bring us here because they sell 'exotic' food LOL.

(Pioneer Hawker Centre)

By the way, this hawker centre has got the tray return robots! This is real, hahaha. The tray return machines will 'walk' around the hawker centre, and when people walk towards them (to put their trays), they will automatically stop in front of you.

Hahaha, but I guess what incentivise me more is when I return the trays at the tray return corner (instead of using the robots), you get back a dollar! Of course, the auntie in me is unleashed. LOL, will definitely return the trays because a dollar is enough for me to buy a vanilla cone from Macs.

This brought me back to thinking: why does Singaporeans not have the habit of returning the trays? My previous project with Mr Yang, the creator of the campaign Face of the Day, also tried to address this issue as well. "Why is it that when people left schools, they forgot how to return their trays?" However, I feel that the youngsters are still doing fine, generally it might be people of the older generation? Habits are hard to change.

(Pumpkin-flavored noodles)

I excitedly ordered this bowl of noodles for lunch. To be honest, I cannot taste any pumpkin taste in the noodles, so it just totally feels like I'm eating the normal banmian. T.T And this costs more than my normal banmian because of the pumpkin. Disappointed.

(Blue Pea flavored noodles)

This also tasted like normal banmian. Omg, I feel so cheated T.T On the bright side, they have lower calories than the normal banmian. Okay, I will take it as I'm paying more for healthier options. Finding positivity in every situation. LOL.

If you're a storm, let me be struck by lightning.

Face of the Day Campaign

Initiated by Mr Yang Derong, a well-known fashion and costume designer, this campaign hopes to raise awareness of the various issues in Singapore, be it social, political or historical issues. He will upload pictures of him dressed up as different characters on social media (Instagram), with links to further readings embedded in his captions. Do check it out, I think it's quite meaningful and inspiring!

And catch my proudest production so far! I'm quite happy with the audio and the footages (we did minimal color correcting). Hehehes, :D Last video project under NM4883D and I'm so happy that it ended on a high note! :D

We went back to school during the reading week for the final presentation and screening of our films. My professor took screening literally, so he got us popcorn and drinks LOLOL! And the best part is, he invited his wife and daughter to the showcase. The daughter is so intelligent and cute, she went around networking with people like some social butterfly LOLOL.

And at the end of the showcase, she even sang a song at the stage with the mic. HAHAHAHA. I cannot, damn cutesy luh?!? She's so confident lehs - when I was a kid, I just want to get away from the stage. LOL. (Even up till now, I still have stage fright).

I'm really grateful to Mr Yang for being so patient with us rookies. :D And thanks my groupmates for being so supportive, they are one of the best groups that I have ever gotten in my whole NUS life. (:

Sunday, November 26, 2017

Despite it all, hold tight onto the heart and go.

Went cafe hopping with the mother and sister last week! (: Okay not really considered cafe hopping because we only patronized two eateries. LOLOL! Decided on Holland Village because there are some new restaurants that I want to try! Maybe they are not so new, but it has been ages since I last visited Holland Village luh. #mountaintortoise

Tai Cheong Bakery

There was a queue despite it being a weekday afternoon. But I only queued for approximately 15 minutes, so that's still acceptable. Singaporeans are best at queueing rights! LOL. They have seats for us while queueing, and they also served us cold water to drink in the sweltering hot weather. I rate their service 11/10 :D

(We ordered two yuenyang, aka mixed coffee/tea)

Super excited to come here because I was craving for some Hong Kong delicacies since my visit to Hong Kong last year! :D Brings back wonderful memories yeahs, because it was my first overseas trip with friends!

(Plate of glory)

I super love the scrambled eggs and the bolo bun! It was so worth it for $6.50. The eggs are so soft and milky, like the ones at the Australian Diary eatery back in Hong Kong! I remembered us being so hyped up about their scrambled eggs that we packet our breakfast from that place almost everyday. LOLOL. And the bolo bun is so nice and crispy as well!

(Three-egg macaroni soup in tomato base)

Three-egg basically means three sunny-side up. LOL, I thought it was something more special oops. But the strips of luncheon meat are really very crispy even though they were placed in the soup?! Impressed. (:

(Yong Tau Foo style?)

I forgot what my mother ordered, but it was something like yong tau foo kind. Hahaha, it comes with a plate of noodles. The dish may seem very mediocre, but it actually taste nice. Hahaha, especially the fishballs,  and I love the cuttlefish (: Not at all spicy!

(Beef brisket curry rice)

This is the best dish! The beef chunks are so tender, and the curry is not very spicy which is suitable for kids (and me). LOL! They have generous servings of potatoes as well (but I hate potatoes okay can, I passed them all to my sister who really enjoyed it).

We came in with an empty stomach but left the restaurant with a satisfied tummy. (: I read reviews before heading down and I realized that they only serve mains from 11am to 2.30pm. Take note of the time, it's better to come down early to queue because there's limited seats. By the way, the mains are mostly priced below $10, so it's really quite affordable compared to the rest of the cafes in Holland Village. And oh, remember to grab their famous egg tarts as well!

Haakon

(Acai)

Finally tried my first bowl of Acai. Hahaha! I have always wanted to try it given the hype, it's just that it's quite pricey so hmm... Anyways, I was contemplating between Project Acai and Haakon, both of which are located in Holland Village, but in the end I decided on this because the bowl seems bigger (?) LOL!!

For all the health junkies out there, Haakon sells Acai bowls, fresh pressed juices, salads and poke bowls as well. The prices are steep, but I guess it's because they are healthy food, so once in a while it's good to indulge. (: But okay, it really is expensive. This bowl costs $12.90. T.T

We ordered pink pitaya and chia bowl, which is pitaya blended with chia seed, topped with passion fruit and granola which gives that extra crunch to the taste. The description reads that this bowl is especially good for immunity boosting, and digestive aid, as well as double up as a beauty food.

Maybe during the holidays I can go experiment and try to make my own Acai bowl LOL. To be honest, I didn't know pitaya was dragonfruit until I went to google. #ignorant Doesn't the name sound like a type of nut?!!

There are different shades of love, most of them unspoken.

(Ripped from indulgy.com)

Don't be shallow.

"What is the point of a diamond dangling on a heartless chest? Or on a deaf ear? Or on an ungenerous hand? What is the point of loving people for the way that your eyes see them, not for who they really are on the inside? Don't be the one who gets fooled by an egg dipped in gold. At the first obstacle, its beautiful covering shatters, and all that is left is nothing that will please your eyes. Use your eyes to see into people's hearts, not the way that they make their hearts appear."

Self-care is how you take your power back.

Week 13.

It's finally the last week of school! Self-declared my last official day of school to be on a Wednesday because I'm just too lazy to attend psychology tutorial hahaha. Went back to school in the end on Thursday not for tutorial, but for documentary editing LOL. Literally stayed 6h inside Vsuite editing room with Regine. T.T Life.

The only submissions left now were a documentary film, production journal and a project report. I can't wait to submit all these nonsense shit, so I can concentrate on studying for finals. Sighs.

(Satay Beehoon)

The daddy drove all the way to Bukit Timah the other time, and I finally got to eat satay beehoon after such a long time! It's so unhealthy yet so delicious gosh! I really, really love satay beehoon. Hehehes! (:

Made an important decision yesterday as well. Having mixed feelings for it because I hate to quit something in the middle, but then I had already fought with my might to no avail. I hope I made the right decision. T.T When one door closes, another door opens.

(Fish Mahanttan)

I was craving for some seafood so we headed down to Fish Mahanttan (Woodlands branch) for dinner after visiting the grandparents. I had such a BAD experience. The service was so terrible - I called the waiteress so many times to take our order, but she just made us wait and never came back. Zzz. And also, it is bad enough to pay $50 for such a small portion, but the worst thing is that the food was served cold. Wth?!? Losing faith in them. I used to patronize them so frequent during my JC days arghs.

(Samurai Beef Burger)

(This is how the inside looked like)

Paid $8+ for this set meal, which is a tad pricey for McDonald's standard (sorry I cheapskate). But overall good experience because the burger is big, the beef is tender and juicy, and it comes with seaweed shaker fries :D

I apologized if this post was 'all over the place' but I'm too tired to organize my thoughts. T.T LOL. Last lap already everyone, jiayous!

Don't blame me, your love
made me crazy. If it doesn't,
you ain't doing it right.
Lord, save me my drug is my baby.
I'll be using for the rest of my life.

Your scent is like a drug to me like my own personal brand of heroin.

Asia-Pacific Electone Festival 2017

Two weekends ago, I went for my first electone concert with my sister (which is a competition in disguise) LOL. After playing the electone for so many years, I finally went for one performance. Achievement unlocked. Hahaha! Anyways, I was quite excited to attend it because my teacher said the performers were damn good. :DD And true to her words, they were indeed very professional. Got the tickets from Sistic priced at $30 per pax, and it was so worth it really!

(Legendary Capitol Theatre)

This theater is so pretty! It looks very grand despite its small size (and small stage). LOL, but no complains because the seats are comfortable, the sound system is good, and the theater is well air-conditioned. :D The only sad thing is that I bought the tickets too late, so I was sitting all the way at the side at the second level. T.T Hmphs.

(Reminds me of my own competition experience)

LOL, I was reminded of this super embarrassing moment hahaha! I was so stupid last time. I still remember the day when my teacher sent me to an electone competition to gain exposure (just for fun luh, I'm not an excellent musician). On that dreadful day, I was so nervous that I actually brought the wrong thumbdrive up the stage (context: we use thumbdrive to store our sounds for the electone). So after sitting down on the electone chair, I had to apologized and scurried back to my mother to get the correct thumbdrive from her. I swear it was so freaking embarrassing!! LOL. And obviously, I screwed up afterwards. T.T Okay, that was like more than 10 years ago, so I hope I'm not that dumb now.

(Guest performer)

We had a guest performer all the way from Japan! I'm so sorry that I couldn't remember his name, but he was the first runner-up for the electone competition in I-forgot-which-year. He composes his own songs, and it was my type of music hahaha (EDM style)! He also re-arranged and played popular songs, such as bang bang. :D

Anyways, I really enjoyed the performance. They were really dramatic, so it was freaking nice and their patterns really more than badminton. There was this girl, who was dancing with her hands while playing solely the pedals. There was another girl who stopped playing halfway and started clapping her hands to the beat. LOL. Gosh, I didn't know we can play it this way so it was really an eye-opener for me. And I'm really so impressed by their footworks luh! I haven't try playing songs that require two legs on the pedals, but would love to try them! It would be a good challenge hahaha!

(Astons with the family)

After which, we headed back to Jurong East to find the parents for dinner. It was 8pm by then, so we settled on Astons. The parents finally got to try it; because everytime we bring them out for Astons, the queue was always insanely long so we gave up queueing T.T

The universe had to fall apart into dust first
to become it's majestic, incredible, infinite self.
What makes you think this breaking,
this trauma, this destruction,
won't be the making of a more powerful you too?
