If you're a storm, let me be struck by lightning.

Face of the Day Campaign

Initiated by Mr Yang Derong, a well-known fashion and costume designer, this campaign hopes to raise awareness of the various issues in Singapore, be it social, political or historical issues. He will upload pictures of him dressed up as different characters on social media (Instagram), with links to further readings embedded in his captions. Do check it out, I think it's quite meaningful and inspiring!

And catch my proudest production so far! I'm quite happy with the audio and the footages (we did minimal color correcting). Hehehes, :D Last video project under NM4883D and I'm so happy that it ended on a high note! :D

We went back to school during the reading week for the final presentation and screening of our films. My professor took screening literally, so he got us popcorn and drinks LOLOL! And the best part is, he invited his wife and daughter to the showcase. The daughter is so intelligent and cute, she went around networking with people like some social butterfly LOLOL.

And at the end of the showcase, she even sang a song at the stage with the mic. HAHAHAHA. I cannot, damn cutesy luh?!? She's so confident lehs - when I was a kid, I just want to get away from the stage. LOL. (Even up till now, I still have stage fright).

I'm really grateful to Mr Yang for being so patient with us rookies. :D And thanks my groupmates for being so supportive, they are one of the best groups that I have ever gotten in my whole NUS life. (:

Despite it all, hold tight onto the heart and go.

Went cafe hopping with the mother and sister last week! (: Okay not really considered cafe hopping because we only patronized two eateries. LOLOL! Decided on Holland Village because there are some new restaurants that I want to try! Maybe they are not so new, but it has been ages since I last visited Holland Village luh. #mountaintortoise

Tai Cheong Bakery

There was a queue despite it being a weekday afternoon. But I only queued for approximately 15 minutes, so that's still acceptable. Singaporeans are best at queueing rights! LOL. They have seats for us while queueing, and they also served us cold water to drink in the sweltering hot weather. I rate their service 11/10 :D

(We ordered two yuenyang, aka mixed coffee/tea)

Super excited to come here because I was craving for some Hong Kong delicacies since my visit to Hong Kong last year! :D Brings back wonderful memories yeahs, because it was my first overseas trip with friends!

(Plate of glory)

I super love the scrambled eggs and the bolo bun! It was so worth it for $6.50. The eggs are so soft and milky, like the ones at the Australian Diary eatery back in Hong Kong! I remembered us being so hyped up about their scrambled eggs that we packet our breakfast from that place almost everyday. LOLOL. And the bolo bun is so nice and crispy as well!

(Three-egg macaroni soup in tomato base)

Three-egg basically means three sunny-side up. LOL, I thought it was something more special oops. But the strips of luncheon meat are really very crispy even though they were placed in the soup?! Impressed. (:

(Yong Tau Foo style?)

I forgot what my mother ordered, but it was something like yong tau foo kind. Hahaha, it comes with a plate of noodles. The dish may seem very mediocre, but it actually taste nice. Hahaha, especially the fishballs,  and I love the cuttlefish (: Not at all spicy!

(Beef brisket curry rice)

This is the best dish! The beef chunks are so tender, and the curry is not very spicy which is suitable for kids (and me). LOL! They have generous servings of potatoes as well (but I hate potatoes okay can, I passed them all to my sister who really enjoyed it).

We came in with an empty stomach but left the restaurant with a satisfied tummy. (: I read reviews before heading down and I realized that they only serve mains from 11am to 2.30pm. Take note of the time, it's better to come down early to queue because there's limited seats. By the way, the mains are mostly priced below $10, so it's really quite affordable compared to the rest of the cafes in Holland Village. And oh, remember to grab their famous egg tarts as well!

Haakon

(Acai)

Finally tried my first bowl of Acai. Hahaha! I have always wanted to try it given the hype, it's just that it's quite pricey so hmm... Anyways, I was contemplating between Project Acai and Haakon, both of which are located in Holland Village, but in the end I decided on this because the bowl seems bigger (?) LOL!!

For all the health junkies out there, Haakon sells Acai bowls, fresh pressed juices, salads and poke bowls as well. The prices are steep, but I guess it's because they are healthy food, so once in a while it's good to indulge. (: But okay, it really is expensive. This bowl costs $12.90. T.T

We ordered pink pitaya and chia bowl, which is pitaya blended with chia seed, topped with passion fruit and granola which gives that extra crunch to the taste. The description reads that this bowl is especially good for immunity boosting, and digestive aid, as well as double up as a beauty food.

Maybe during the holidays I can go experiment and try to make my own Acai bowl LOL. To be honest, I didn't know pitaya was dragonfruit until I went to google. #ignorant Doesn't the name sound like a type of nut?!!

There are different shades of love, most of them unspoken.

(Ripped from indulgy.com)

Don't be shallow.

"What is the point of a diamond dangling on a heartless chest? Or on a deaf ear? Or on an ungenerous hand? What is the point of loving people for the way that your eyes see them, not for who they really are on the inside? Don't be the one who gets fooled by an egg dipped in gold. At the first obstacle, its beautiful covering shatters, and all that is left is nothing that will please your eyes. Use your eyes to see into people's hearts, not the way that they make their hearts appear."

Self-care is how you take your power back.

Week 13.

It's finally the last week of school! Self-declared my last official day of school to be on a Wednesday because I'm just too lazy to attend psychology tutorial hahaha. Went back to school in the end on Thursday not for tutorial, but for documentary editing LOL. Literally stayed 6h inside Vsuite editing room with Regine. T.T Life.

The only submissions left now were a documentary film, production journal and a project report. I can't wait to submit all these nonsense shit, so I can concentrate on studying for finals. Sighs.

(Satay Beehoon)

The daddy drove all the way to Bukit Timah the other time, and I finally got to eat satay beehoon after such a long time! It's so unhealthy yet so delicious gosh! I really, really love satay beehoon. Hehehes! (:

Made an important decision yesterday as well. Having mixed feelings for it because I hate to quit something in the middle, but then I had already fought with my might to no avail. I hope I made the right decision. T.T When one door closes, another door opens.

(Fish Mahanttan)

I was craving for some seafood so we headed down to Fish Mahanttan (Woodlands branch) for dinner after visiting the grandparents. I had such a BAD experience. The service was so terrible - I called the waiteress so many times to take our order, but she just made us wait and never came back. Zzz. And also, it is bad enough to pay $50 for such a small portion, but the worst thing is that the food was served cold. Wth?!? Losing faith in them. I used to patronize them so frequent during my JC days arghs.

(Samurai Beef Burger)

(This is how the inside looked like)

Paid $8+ for this set meal, which is a tad pricey for McDonald's standard (sorry I cheapskate). But overall good experience because the burger is big, the beef is tender and juicy, and it comes with seaweed shaker fries :D

I apologized if this post was 'all over the place' but I'm too tired to organize my thoughts. T.T LOL. Last lap already everyone, jiayous!

Don't blame me, your love
made me crazy. If it doesn't,
you ain't doing it right.
Lord, save me my drug is my baby.
I'll be using for the rest of my life.

Your scent is like a drug to me like my own personal brand of heroin.

Asia-Pacific Electone Festival 2017

Two weekends ago, I went for my first electone concert with my sister (which is a competition in disguise) LOL. After playing the electone for so many years, I finally went for one performance. Achievement unlocked. Hahaha! Anyways, I was quite excited to attend it because my teacher said the performers were damn good. :DD And true to her words, they were indeed very professional. Got the tickets from Sistic priced at $30 per pax, and it was so worth it really!

(Legendary Capitol Theatre)

This theater is so pretty! It looks very grand despite its small size (and small stage). LOL, but no complains because the seats are comfortable, the sound system is good, and the theater is well air-conditioned. :D The only sad thing is that I bought the tickets too late, so I was sitting all the way at the side at the second level. T.T Hmphs.

(Reminds me of my own competition experience)

LOL, I was reminded of this super embarrassing moment hahaha! I was so stupid last time. I still remember the day when my teacher sent me to an electone competition to gain exposure (just for fun luh, I'm not an excellent musician). On that dreadful day, I was so nervous that I actually brought the wrong thumbdrive up the stage (context: we use thumbdrive to store our sounds for the electone). So after sitting down on the electone chair, I had to apologized and scurried back to my mother to get the correct thumbdrive from her. I swear it was so freaking embarrassing!! LOL. And obviously, I screwed up afterwards. T.T Okay, that was like more than 10 years ago, so I hope I'm not that dumb now.

(Guest performer)

We had a guest performer all the way from Japan! I'm so sorry that I couldn't remember his name, but he was the first runner-up for the electone competition in I-forgot-which-year. He composes his own songs, and it was my type of music hahaha (EDM style)! He also re-arranged and played popular songs, such as bang bang. :D

Anyways, I really enjoyed the performance. They were really dramatic, so it was freaking nice and their patterns really more than badminton. There was this girl, who was dancing with her hands while playing solely the pedals. There was another girl who stopped playing halfway and started clapping her hands to the beat. LOL. Gosh, I didn't know we can play it this way so it was really an eye-opener for me. And I'm really so impressed by their footworks luh! I haven't try playing songs that require two legs on the pedals, but would love to try them! It would be a good challenge hahaha!

(Astons with the family)

After which, we headed back to Jurong East to find the parents for dinner. It was 8pm by then, so we settled on Astons. The parents finally got to try it; because everytime we bring them out for Astons, the queue was always insanely long so we gave up queueing T.T

Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Recently, I have been spending too much time with my NM4883D groupmates. LOL, gosh. We meet for shoot, discussion or editing every other day T.T I really cannot wait to kiss goodbye to NM4883D - not that I don't like spending time with my groupmates, it's just that this module is too taxing x.x

(So fluffy!)

This looks like the lion dog that I have always wanted! We were at SMU filming our Voxpop the other day and there was some dog carnival going on. So there were like hundreds of dogs and their owners gathered at this huge tentage hahahaha. It was kinda... scary? LOL.

(Game Start 2017)

We also headed down to this gaming convention for yet another shoot. Not a fan of online gaming, so I wasn't very keen to pay for the entrance tickets zzz. Gosh, I should have dress up as something because they offered cosplayers free entry. I even saw someone wearing their Pikachu onesie, like that also can?!?

(Driving game)

This looked like something that will appear from the arcade, LOL! The design, lighting and atmosphere were damn good, 10/10. (:

(Cosplayer gaming)

The venue was quite dark, and we were so afraid that the dim lighting will affect the quality of our footages. But thankfully it turned out fine?! Gosh, but we met with a lot of damn audio issues while editing. Why like that?! Last week after we presented our video in class, our professor said it was a serious issue and so we will be marked down. Sighs. T.T

Life moves on, so stay tune for our next project!

I am terribly sorry if you
don't like my harsh honesty.
But I didn't like your
sugar-coated bullshit either.

Too busy watering my own grass to check if yours is greener.

Typing this because I was so disturbed by a neighbour's screams in the middle of the night. It was late at night and I was trying to get some work done but their screaming is really damn disturbing. It has been going on for an hour already, omg just patch up and shut up. T.T I also want to faster finish up my work and sleep.

Feeling really damn stressed and frustrated because nothing is going on smoothly for me, be it in school or work. Second last week of school already and I'm just wishing that time will pass by quickly. The only thing that I'm looking forward to is my December holiday trip. x.x

I was checking out the food at Malaysia Boleh, Jurong Point, with my family the other day.

(Popiah)

The three of us ordered two popiahs because we were feeling too ambitious. LOL, just had lunch before we left home but taking the MRT trip to Jurong Point made us hungry again. x.x Is my stomach a bottomless pit?!

(Carrot Cake)

Their carrot cake is so different from Singapore's! The chunks are more huge, and the taste is lighter yet still flavorful! I'm not sure how authentic this is from Malaysia, because I seldom travel to Malaysia, but this carrot cake is really rocking it. (:

(Logan Drink)

I asked the mother to get me soya milk, but she came back with logan instead. Surprisingly, it is quite refreshing and I love it a lot (even though I don't really like logans LOL). But I still love soya milk luh. Anyways, lobang for y'all: I recently discovered this application called 'Mr Bean', which allows you to clock the number of steps you walk and get Mr Bean vouchers in return. Hahaha, I managed to claim a cup of soya milk and two pancakes at $1.60 only! Score!

On a side note, I was really damn excited when I discovered that Utown Koufu's drinks stall will be extending their operations till Week 13 of school! Yessss, I still have my supply of iced teh cino to keep me accompany during school term. :D

Anyways, earlier this year, the FoodTastic coffee shop in Choa Chu Kang was opened. The coffee shop was featured in the news because it was the first few coffee shops that employed an array of smart technologies. Ranging from digital ordering to tray return automatic system and automatic floor cleaning robot, the coffee shop aims to provide diners with fuss-free experiences.

(Daddy's Pork Cutlet Curry Rice)

My family and I was so intrigued by the news, so we decided that we have to drop by there to take a look. It turned out to be nothing LOL. I was so excited for nothing. T.T It was just going cashless with the digital ordering system. You will then be given a buzzer after you order, so you can go collect your food when it rings. After dining, return your trays back at the tray return system which is on a conveyor belt. Isn't it the same as everywhere else?

(Mummy's Grilled Chicken)

LOL, so where's the robot? I was expecting some robot that will come from tables to tables to help serve the food or return the trays or whatnot. LOL, is it that I'm being too wild and imaginative again??

(My dried banmian)

Their food prices are not cheap, costing approximately $5 or so. But the quality is not bad, and I like my dried banmian especially! Or maybe I just like dried banmian in general, but it is not commonly found in Singapore. And I felt cheated by the coffee shop, because I was really expecting to see robots in action LOLOL.

Romance doesn't need to be expensive, it just needs to be sentimental.

Happiness is when you ended late at 10pm in school, and your groupmate has a car to drive you to Clementi MRT. LOL, at least I get to save some time from travelling. :D Cheap thrills.

(Four Seasons Ramen)

Headed to Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King Four Seasons a few weeks back to celebrate Clement's birthday. Didn't know what to gift him, so I decided to just treat him to a meal. Hahaha, (: Paying for a meal is always the easiest gift to get rights!

Located at Bugis Village, the restaurant featured a seasonal menu that comprises four climatic seasons, namely Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. I thought that this was a quite interesting concept. I went for the autumn one, whilst he ordered the summer one. The summer one was super spicy, so don't even bother with it if you cannot take spicy food, like me. LOL!

Verdict: I thought the autumn flavor was quite meh. They have plenty of mushrooms, but I didn't feel like the mushrooms can go well with ramen. Perhaps I should have trusted my instinct to go with the spring one instead. Hmmm...

(Bingsu)

Satisfied our bingsu cravings once again with this chocolate banana bingsu! It was a nice chat over dessert. I think we stayed there an hour plus, before I decided that it was too late and I had to get home. LOL, thanks Clement for the day! (:

(Chicken)

Throwback to lunch with Regine at Hwangs a few weeks back. Glad to have a lunch buddy for two days a week this semester. I'm contented (: Finally visiting Hwangs again, and satisfying our Korean food cravings ever since our return from Korea. To be honest, this dish is like a faux?! I could not manage to find this in Korea itself lehs. Except during the times I went for BBQ. Omg?!

The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live.

(Ripped from omswami.com)

Emptiness.

It is a feeling that you get when your life is in a mess. It is a feeling that you get when everything you do just boils down to nothing. It is a feeling that you get when you lost everything all of a sudden. All at once.

They say challenges make you tough. But I'm so sick of fending off everything life throws at me.

The feeling of inferiority, the feeling of hopelessness, the feeling of being useless and worthless. It just keeps getting back to me. I really did try my best, I really did. And I'm tired already.

Emptiness.

It is the lack of meaning and purpose in life.

At times like this, I really yearn for some company.

But every time you hurt me the less I cry
And every time you leave me the quicker these tears dry
And every time you walk out the less I love you
Baby we don't stand a chance
It's sad but it's true
