You need chaos in your soul, to give birth to a dancing star.

Since it is C's birthday today, I shall do a throwback post to Singapore Night Festival a few weeks ago. :D The festival was a little overrated, but still I'm thankful for events like these, because Singapore is too small and there's no natural attractions for us to enjoy, LOL. The best part is that we don't have to pay anything for the festival :D #cheapskate

(Saizeriya)

Wanted to dine at Nam Nam Noodle Bar initially but the queue was insane LOL. Decided to take a gamble and walked further down to Saizeriya, but we were still met with a snakey queue. Fortunately, the people queuing in front of us were all in fours, so we got our seats very quickly! Nice. (:

We got black pepper chicken spaghetti for me and squid ink spaghetti for C. Hahaha, he ate it fine but the last time I ate it with Manda, she was so unglam LOLOL with squid ink all over her mouth and teeth. Jialat lehs!

(I guess this was the most iconic of the night festival)

(It was so magnificent)

It was the same building by the way. I took it at different angles. The graphics/lighting on the building kept changing, and that's what makes it amazing, (:

(Boxing match)

We chanced upon this show also! It was quite fake LOL, like sometimes I see they throw punches that never hit their opponent but the opponent fell flat on the ground. Oops #exposed But okay, I don't mind because this meant that there is a much lower possibility of getting injuries.

I didn't really like watching such matches because #violence. I don't understand why people are interested in watching people fighting one another and getting injured over it. Tsktsk. Recently there was also news that a bodybuilder passed away after a boxing match with Steven Lim yeahs? T.T Safety should always come first...

(Pretty lights, pretty me)

I'm egoistic like that hahaha! C was being my trustworthy photographer again. Thanks for being so patient even though he kept complaining throughout the entire night, tsktsk. And it was so hard to get him to take photos together, so annoying. He relented in the end, so thankfully! I like taking photos yeahs, because they serve as memories. Loving the photos that we took, but our phone cameras just don't do justice to the beauty of these lights.

(Looks like a scene out of some fairytale)

Breathe. It felt very magical the moment I stepped inside. The tree was a little creepy when lit in the dark, reminds me of the Hanzel and Gretel story we always read when we were young. It felt as if a witch was going to jump out any moment, if not for the crowds of people.

(Everyone was busy taking selfies with the mirrors inside)

And I am no exception to that. #basic

(Glass Rotunda)

As we walked further to the National Museum of Singapore, we saw this exhibition Glass Rotunda. It is very breathtaking because it felt as if you just walked into a whole new world. Pssh, the experience will be better if there is nobody else. Because gosh, it was so freaking crowded during the night festival and my view was constantly blocked. Cannot appreciate properly T.T By the way, this is a permanent exhibition in the museum, and it is free (not sure if it only applies to Singaporeans) so quite worth to take a look if you are looking for something to do to spend the day!

(Ripped from nookmag.com)

I'm pretty sure Amanda won't remember the exhibition, so here's a picture I got off nookmag to refresh her memory. LOL, in case she is still unable to recognise the place (because she is so blur), we came here for our GES assignment. Hahaha, sighs I'm missing her so much. Please come back soon!

(Glow in the dark)

I forgot which museum this was. But this was quite amazing because the entire room was filled with drawings that glow in the dark. C's white shirt also glowed in the dark, is it he can be part of the exhibition? Hahahaha! There was glow in the dark henna services as well, but sighs it was too late when I reached there and they closed the queue. Whyyyyyy.

(Superstar wannabes)

We walked further down and we came across this garden-like place. I guessed we failed terribly at posing LOL! We were so incredibly stiff! But again, it was interesting to take pictures of our silhouettes.

(Chijmes)

Walking back to the MRT and we chanced upon Chijmes. Wah, I usually passed by it during the day but I didn't know it looked so pretty at night. It looks like a castle! What a beautiful ending to my night festival :D

Guess who felt like a princess for the day hahaha! Thanks for the dinner treat and for sending me home. I approved your driving skills hahahas, quite stable luh!

Before the day ends, thank you and happy birthday Clems!

Real things aren't said
Real things are felt.
And for this moment
I close my eyes.
This is real.

The sun is a daily reminder that we too can rise again from the darkness, that we too can shine our own light.

(Chocolates from India)

I am blessed to have a great friend who will think of me whenever he goes overseas. Hahaha, thanks Longyuan! I tried this chocolate but my palates did not approve LOL. Passed it to my mummy in the end, and thankfully she thinks it tasted fine. I thought that the milk taste is too strong. x.x But nonetheless, I am glad to try something authentic from India! :D

And gosh, I really need to go temple and pray before every Cognitive psychology tutorial. T.T Every week my tutor will always go "the girl at the corner" and I will just stare at him dumbfounded and tried to make sense of what I'm saying. But he always throw hard questions at me? LOL zzz. For this week, I changed to a seat where he cannot see me (still at the end of the row but I'm not next to the wall please). But he still goes "the girl at the corner, I cannot see you but you can answer this question". Whut?!? Puke blood.

(Ipoh Horfun)

The nearing of recess week calls for a celebration LOL! Dragged the entire family to Ah Huat Cafe for dinner the other day and gross, never ever going back again T.T So expensive and so tasteless lehs. I think my ipoh horfun is the best among all the other dishes we ordered.

(Baked Rice)

No-go. This was the worst. So dry. Sighs, I love Ah Huat coffee though. Why is their Cafe not up to standard?! Cries.

(Nasi Lemak)

Mummy was craving badly for Nasi Lemak. But nahs, what a disappointment.

The eyes are useless when the mind is blind.

It was the mother's birthday, and the whole family decided to go catch a movie to celebrate. LOL, my parents seldom watch movie that's why. ðŸ˜‹ Decided to catch The Battleship Island because my mum is a great fan of Song Joong Ki. LOLOL!

(Battleship Movie)

This movie was so interesting! The story plot was about a prison break attempt from a forced labour camp on Hashima Island during the Japanese occupation. It held deep meanings as it portrayed the tough lives that the Koreans went through during that period. Whether it is true a not, it is another matter. But I thought that it was insightful and touching.

(He looked so good even though his face was smeared with black paint)

(He looked exceptionally manly here!)

The movie is 10/10 recommended by me. Hahaha, this is not because I biased towards Song Joong Ki, but it was really a good movie. (: I think they are still screening in the cinemas, so guys, y'all should go and watch it!

(Shabu-sai hotpot buffet)

After the movie, we headed to Shabu Sai for birthday dinner for mummy! We went to the Westgate branch and gosh, no-go manzxc. The pot is so small!? I have no issues when I went to their other branches though. Sighs. But okay, shan't complain because the standard and quality of their food didn't drop. Except that the pot is really too small that I have to keep asking them to refill the soup for me. T.T

(Glorious plates of meat)

I really love beef.

That's something about sunsets that makes goodbyes all the more worthwhile.

(My babies)

Grabbed Starbucks with the sister again because 1-for-1. Their frequent promotion technique has such a huge influence on me really. It got me so hooked on Starbucks which I normally will not buy unless they have the promotion. What a great advertising method! This time round, we got their new flavours, Pumpkin Spice Latte and Maple Pecan Latte, and I thought they tasted almost the same LOL except that the pumpkin drink has a strong spice taste which the maple pecan latte did not have. Hmm...

(Return of Superman's Sungjae)

It has been a long time since I last watched Return of Superman (ever since I went to Korea LOL). I was walking home yesterday and it was already 11pm. So late already but the neighbour's kid was still very active. Hahaha, young man, it is time for bed tsktsk.

Cannot really see him because he was too short, but I can see the top of his head bobbing around and saying "hello jiejie! helloooo!" Omg, he is damn sweet ah. I hope he never grows up and continue bringing joy in my life. Hahaha, kidding. But yep, he reminded me to go watch Return of Superman and spazz over these cute little children.

(Return of Superman's Sian/Daebak)

Ain't they simply just very cute?! Sometimes they inspire me to go join Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) so I can go start campaigns on encouraging childbirth. LOL, shit. I think too much. This is such a controversial topic. Just remembered a few months ago, I went out with my NM friends (Dewei, Chermin, Jamie and Licheng), and we were debating about the advantages and disadvantages of having children. Hmm, and I lost. LOL why everyone don't want to have kids?! They are just so cute ah...

I suppose I love my scars
because they have stayed with

This is just a sad chapter, you are not a sad story.

(Ripped from Tumblr)

When you are continuously punished for something you did wrong in Y1S1 - which is not studying hard enough.

When I accidentally fell off the boat 2 years ago, I managed to find a floating wooden plank. The currents were very strong, but I grabbed hold onto the plank tightly. It was my lifeline. Then I found my boat, and attempted to climb back bit and bit. I thought I have managed to turn the boat back, but nope, there is an unknown force that kept pulling my leg and dragging me down. I was struggling to keep alive, but they just want me to drown.

Thanks NUS for not giving me opportunities. Or rather, I should have myself to blame because I didn't perform hard enough to gain your recognition. Thanks for making me feel so demoralized and constantly questioning my choice of pursing my degree in NUS.

Sending love a little everyday.

Exactly one month ago, I went for my very first concert!

GEM is definitely one of my favourite Mandopop singer, so I was damn stroked to get her concert tickets! And perhaps because this was my very first concert in my twenty-one years, I was even more excited for it :D I'm super thankful to Hsienhean for the jio! Intern friends are the best yeahs!

During my internship, my mentor, Winnie, was still sharing with me her experience of going to concerts. Hahaha, she said, "This is one exciting part of being a youth" and she strongly urged me to go for one concert at least LOL!

There I go! :DDD

(Claypot Chicken)

Treated Hsienhean to A'One's Claypot Chicken for dinner because he treated me the previous round. $22 for two pax but it wasn't that filling though. Lucky we were both not feeling hungry so the portion was just nice! I wished they gave a bigger portion though because it was quite delicious. Hehes (: Greedy me.

(Queen of Hearts 2017)

Travelled all the way to the East (Singapore Indoor Stadium why oh why is it so far away) just to see my idol. :D I didn't know there were bag checks, so thankfully I didn't bring my camera and all because they were not allowed. And gosh, why ain't we allowed to bring our water bottle inside!! I was feeling quite thirsty because I spent the entire 2h plus singing along with her hehehes :D

(Goddess)

She is damn beautiful gosh. I was sitting quite far away (Category 3 tickets), so my phone couldn't quite capture her face. I just keep spamming pictures of the screen. She still looks good yeahs. She belted out all her hit songs, and hehehes I knew all of them! :D The entire stadium was singing along with her, and the atmosphere was 100/100!

(She showcased her piano skills as well)

I think she covered close to 20 songs? Pop songs, ballads and even rap, she got them all under her belt. Freaking talented, I aspire to be like her. LOL. I was super shocked when some of my friends asked who she is after seeing my Instastory post of the concert. Omg, how can you guys not notice her when she's one of the legends in the Mandopop industry!!

(Rainbow piano? I want!)

The piano is actually white in color. It appears rainbow because of the lighting. This was super well-planned, I'm impressed omg.

(The scene when she was singing Bubbles)

She was holding onto this piece of long white cloth, and when she reached the chorus, the cloth started flying high in the sky. It was a magnificent sight!? Initially I thought she was wearing a super long gown and her gown suddenly flew up so I thought she going to expose herself or something LOLOL!

She has never let me down. I went for her concert on the second day, but her vocals are still going strong. I'm really, really impressed with her high notes! Really super thanks Hsienhean for asking me along. Hahaha, thanks for thinking of me and remembering that I like her! (:

Would you bring me back to holding hands in the rain?
I swear I'd ease your pain.
Lift you up so you could finally see
The love you are to me

Find a man that makes you feel like a little girl and a grown woman at the same time.

Finished my first presentation of the semester, and yay! I am finally down with one burden. Presentations after presentations, what's new in university life? But I am still unable to overcome that fear of public speaking in me. T.T What should I do to get rid of this fear? Sighs.

Today's presentation groups all did so well, and even though I felt relieved that I'm done with mine, but whenever I compare mine to theirs, I feel so insignificant LOL. Please, Professor Jung please be lenient because we were presenting on the first lesson and had nothing to refer to.

But really, why did the first group have to spoil market and set such a high benchmark?? And why did nobody ask questions for the first two weeks, but people bombed questions for mine. T.T Goodness, I really suck at thinking and coming up with answers on the spot.

(Salmon Sashimi, anyone?)

Itacho Sushi with Vivian again, what's new? LOL, we finally found the 60cents sushi after going there to dinner for numerous occasions. Zzz, is it we dumb or dumb? But despite us ordering the 60cents sushi now, why does the bill still amount to $60+?? Omg, woes of a poor undergraduate.

(Sweet and Sour Sauce)

Some special connotation for the sauce. I think this is a new flavour because I have never across this until now! It tasted okay, quite interesting that sushi can mix with sweet and sour (?) sauce.

(I forgot what we ordered)

From my memory, I think these are the 60cent sushi and they really taste legit! (: Daebak!

(Smoked duck and salmon)

Who doesn't like these flavours! Hahaha, I think I will eat Itacho everyday if I'm a millionnaire. I really love their quality of food! But they recently changed their ordering system to some phone application which is freaking troublesome. I still have to download the stupid application before I can order wth. Why not just freaking use a iPad zzz. What if my phone got insufficient memory space!

(Curry prawn)

Hahaha I really like this concept, the sushi is just so cute rights! There's both head and tail, LOL.

(Squid)

Ever since I introduced this grilled squid to Vivian, we have been eating this every time we go Itacho! I would like it better if they serve it less dry!

(Lady M)

Lamenting about our lives over desserts at Lady M. Really miss her now that she is interning all the way at town, and the poor me is stuck in school. We are so far apart luh, hard to meet also (Okay, more like lazy to travel LOL). During times like this, I really wish I'm interning somewhere instead of studying. T.T But okay luh, grass is always greener on the other side.

Ever since I started my Y3S1, my life just revolve around school. Sighs, cannot wait for recess week. At least I have more free days then... On a side note, I realised I am really friendless?!? Why do I not have any friends to accompany me for some school event!? Walao damn sian. Humans are also social creatures, I need friends. T.T

To the little boy who dreamed of
flying away with Peter Pan,
To the little girl who never failed
to wish upon a star,
I am sorry the world shattered those
dreams and carelessly labelled them
'growing up' instead of comforting you.
Your innocence deserved better.

Most people need love and acceptance more than advice.

Thinking back on the past 4 weeks of school, I'm just glad that I have got good groupmates this semester. Just that I think they are so darn good, and I'm pulling them down T.T I would say they are very proactive and efficient, which is a very good thing. Not sure why I feel so tired this semester (particularly tired), but it seems like my contribution to the project is so little. x.x And I'm feeling guilty as hell.

Ohwell.

Throwback to last week's lunch @ Menya Musashi with the sister. We went out to run some errands (going Singpost, collecting ezbuy parcels, ordering cake and buying present for mummy's birthday amongst others). Totally spent the entire day out just running around, and I'm beat tired. LOL, I really think my body have aged. Zzz.

(Gyoza and Octopus)

Each set meal comes with a free side dish, such as chicken karrage and California maki, but in the end we just settled for gyoza and octopus. Spoilt for choices lehs.

(White Cha Shu Ramen)

(Black Cha Shu Ramen)

The 'white' here means the broth is original pork soup, whilst the 'black' means they added garlic oil into the broth. I would prefer the white one! And I need to go and learn how to cool their flavored eggs, omg. It is freaking nice luh!

(Mango Shaved Ice)

We went for desserts afterwards. Being habitual creatures, we sticked back to the mango flavor shaved ice. Hahaha, I have been there a couple of times but all I have tried is the mango one. Time to try new flavors omg.

And yup, we spent around 9 hours outside gosh. Just from running errands. T.T

(Mee Goreng)

There's this new Malay eatery that newly opened in YewTee a few months ago. Decided to give it a try, but nahs, it doesn't warrant another visit there. T.T Sighs, no wonder we noticed that most of the Malays walked out to the opposite Long John Silver after they scanned the menu at this Malay eatery. We should have known better hmm...

(1-for-1 Starbucks with my new friend)

I'm glad that going for Korea summer school gave me a chance to meet new people. (: I stayed in a Airbnb that time with Vivian's friend, Jiashu, and Jiashu's friend, Regine. So in a way, I gained two friends during my trip there :D

And I will be seeing Regine for 3 days a week because we took 3 same modules in NUS. Yay! Is it I finally have a friend to go lessons with! This was totally unplanned, I just met her during classes. Suddenly, I'm ever more grateful to have embarked on the Korea exchange and get to know Regine, and to know that I wouldn't spend my semester alone and feeling so lonely. Hahahaha!

Lessons from a tree:
Stand tall. Stand proud.
Go out on a limb, drink lots of water.
Enjoy the view. Remember your roots.

Travelling - it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.

It has been a week since my bestie flew overseas for her exchange, and I missed her terribly. Sighs.

(Bon Voyage)

Woke up early and went all the way to Changi to send her off. Achievement unlocked because I managed to wake up early and reach on time LOL :D And thankfully, I don't have school that day.

All the best, Amanda! Have fun and enjoy yourself over there! Make new friends and maybe get a new angmoh boyboy when you come back. Hehehehes :D

Throwback to our last outing before she flew. We decided to head to National Gallery to see the YAYOI KUSAMA: Life is the Heart of a Rainbow exhibition. (: Yay, it is so pretty! And also, Manda recently got a camera so we can go to the exhibition and experiment with it!

(Took us a million attempts to get this photo)

And yup, this is like one of my rarest times whereby I could actually feel the author through her exhibitions. The pain, the torture she went through, it was all so visible to me. (Also thanks Amanda for giving me a synopsis before we go, because it helps in my understanding uh HAHAHA)

(My pretty bestie)

We learnt this phototaking trick by observing people. It is like a fisheye effect, but I feel that this is nicer than that. I don't really like how the fisheye effect will make my background looks like it is swallowing the person in the foreground. Hey, I really suck at explaining this type of photography stuff because I'm no expert in photography, but you get what I mean rights! Anyways, I realised that when I start observing my surroundings, I actually gain a lot. LOL!

(Galaxy Fantasy)

Sorry I just made up a name for this exhibition because I cannot remember already LOL! But yup, I think we faced the wrong side (should face the front instead of the side), hence there's reflection of us. But then again, we were only given 20 seconds inside this exhibition (like wtf can I do in 20 seconds) and there's a couple in front of us so... But I have to admit, this is the most beautiful thing ever!

(Polka Dots)

This is another cool exhibition whereby we put our heads into this box/container-like thing and tada, a whole new world! It was so pretty even though the orange dots gave me a headache initially. It was all around. LOL!

(Attempting a candid shot)

Hahaha, thanks Manda for snapping away to get the best candid shot for me. Psssh, I really suck at acting candid, so we really interacted and Manda was just there snapping random shots of me. LOL! But this photo was so nice! I looked so happy hahaha!

(The way the little boy looks at me. Is he falling in love with me?)

I refused to admit that 90% he is probably judging me instead. LOL! Dropped by the Gallery Children's Biennale 2017 and omg, it is a kids' heaven! Everything is plastered with polka dots and sometimes you just can't really tell what object it is.

(You have to do a double take to realised that there is actually another chair on the other side of the table)

Reminds me of cognitive psychology - how our brains were playing tricks on us. Hahaha! Reality vs perception. Okay enough of psychology, I'm so sick of it. LOL!

(That little girl is the bombz)

Hahaha! The mother was so brilliant to dress the baby girl up in polka dots LOL. Note that she didn't paste polka dots on her dress initially (she did after Amanda asked her to, that's why when we were young, our parents often taught us to not speak to strangers. Amanda, why you so bad influence!) The original dress was already filled with polka dots LOL!

Go visit the exhibition guys, it is free of charge for students! (: I'm not sure if it is still ongoing, so please check before heading down! It is definitely worth the visit.

You took me up to the azure sky,
but you didn't know how to really fly
and we crashed into a heap of
sudden goodbyes.
