Sleep under the stars.

(Ripped from favim.com)

"I do not want to have you
to fill the empty parts of me
I want to be full on my own.

I want to be so complete
I could light up a whole city
and then
I want to have you cause
the two of us combined
could set it on fire."

Sometimes it's easier just to pretend you don't have emotions at all.

Thoughts on Y2S1

It has finally come to an end, and here are some takeaways:

(Ripped from freshwallpapers.net)

1) Friendships forged

Humans are social creatures, so I guess I still view this as the most important aspect of my university life. This is a semester whereby I only see my best friend once a week for lessons, so it is quite sad. And we cannot have dinner after lessons as well, because she still has lessons. Hmm.

I'm glad to meet Chermin and Yurong for NM3232, even though I hate the module LOL. Thanks for being my module mates, hehehes at least I don't have to walk into a class and look lost trying to find a corner seat and hide.

Thankful for Jiazi and Vivian P. as well for my NM3219 class. Jiazi offered me a lot of life (?) advices and shared with me many of her experiences, and she is really very nice and all. I am also glad to reconnect with my secondary school mate Vivian, hehehes.

Not forgetting my GET1002 groupmates as well. They are quite a nice bunch, and even though I know we wouldn't meet again, but I am still thankful to have known y'all through this module. You guys have been efficient groupmates, I like. And thanks for bringing laughters towards the end. Cheers to Brenda, Kelly, Jimmy and Eunice.

Special thanks to Dewei because he really advised me alot and helped me to plan my modules when I was feeling like a lost sheep after my exchange application fell through. It is really good to know seniors because they have been through so much shit, so they know what to do. Really glad for this friendship even though we didn't take any modules together this semester.

Special mention to Clement as well. Hehehes, didn't work a lot for events because of school commitments but glad to make a good friend out of it.

Also, thanks to everyone else who stayed by, such as Amanda, Huiqi, Vivian, Longyuan, Ben and JJ and everyone else. Sorry for the late replies everytime, because I was living in a cave suffocated from schoolwork.

2) Gaining independence

It was three modules alone this semester. I remember at the start, I was choosing modules with uncertainty because I don't want to head to lessons alone. I just hate to be alone LOL.

But I guess circumstances force me to learn to be more independent. I was actually taking two modules with another friend, who apparently went missing in action throughout the entire semester, so it was just me alone. Again. LOL.

I used to secretly hate my friend for 'abandoning' me for lessons, however now, as time passed, I learnt that everyone have their own learning styles, so I guess that it was not right for me to demand and expect them to go your way.

And by now, I'm totally okay with attending lectures or tutorials alone.

And this actually freed up a lot of time because I do things at my own pace, and I plan my own timetable without needing to take into account friends' timetable. :D

3) Met nice professor along the way

I really, really like Ms Tan Ee Lyn although she can be pretty harsh at times. New found respect for her, because despite teaching many modules, she is still on task and ever so efficient. Her turnaround rate for replying to my emails is like within 2h!?! And my emails are not the typical admin questions, but more of asking her to check through my class work.

I scored pretty well for the two modules that I took under her. Hehehes, thanks for putting so much effort and taking time to answer all my queries and correcting my work. :DD

It is sad as I don't think I will ever take lessons under her anymore because she teaches mainly writing modules, but no matter how good the teacher is, I think I have enough of writing already. T.T Hahahaha!

Do not question her fire,
she could startle the monsters
that stop your heart.

And in the end, we both went mad in wonderland.

Tactless words said without giving any thought to it might hurt someone in the process.

(Ripped from Tumblr)

Results were released one day ago, and I was satisfied because I guessed I have done better than what I expected, although I have this stupid disgusting grade that I cannot s/u (my poorest grades are forever modules that I cannot s/u wth).

Sighs.

Okay nevermind, watch me. I will come back stronger (highly doubting myself, but ohwell).

On a happier note, four more days to Christmas and I cannot wait to dig into my logcake. I have been having cravings since like forever omg. I ordered a yuzu flavoured one, and boy, I am excited! :D

My mind forgets to remind me.
You're a bad idea.

Only in the darkness, can you see the stars.

(Ripped from ohmyspace.com)

You know your life is pretty screwed, when the results of the exchange program application just further affirmed your intelligence level.

T.T Couldn't help but feel sour over it. Spent so much time researching and feeling excited for it, but it all went up to nothing. LOL sighs. Life is so competitive over here. Ohwell, life is never smooth-sailing. Time to look for other opportunities.

Summer school, anyone?

Sunday

(Limbang Food Court)

Western food for lunch after a game of table tennis with the family last Sunday. I was feeling like a sloth, I have no idea why they are suddenly so enthusiatic to be doing sports. LOL, I was so so tired at the end of the day. I'm old.

Anyways, that plate of Western goodness tasted quite good, and the chicken chop was very tender and juicy served with a soft garlic bread, I really like it. However, their service was super slow until cannot, my parents finish their food, but my food wasn't served yet. T.T

Went strolling in IMM after that to escape from the heat, and I came across this interesting Christmas cake from Dome:

(Igloo Cake)

Damn interesting concept! And I really like the fact that the cake is lychee flavoured! Ever since I tried Prima Deli's Christmas lychee cake two years ago, I have fallen in love with it and until now, the taste is still inched in my memory. LOLOL. So exaggerated, but yeahs, I really like lychee cakes. Hahahaha! And the thing is, Prima Deli stopped selling it because they change their cakes every year, geeez. I am really tempted to write in to them and ask them to bring back lychee cake next year. Should I?

(Found my bestie)

Giant really sell interesting things like these plush toys here at affordable prices! This huge ass Hello Kitty cost $29.90, and they also have giantic teddy bears priced around that range too! But yeahs, plush toys are impractical and being so big-sized, they do nothing but occupy space only. So nope!

I have been shopping for bags for the longest time now. And I saw two bags that I like very much, one from Charles and Keith & the other from Pedro. They are on sales, but sighs, I am broke so I should stop spending money unnecessary LOL!

Monday

It was a busy day running around. LOLOL, woke up late, lazed around at the sofa before gathering all my energy to change out and head down to collect my ezbuy parcel. It took one month, my gosh. Ohwell, quite satisfied with most of the buys, so yay!

Then the sister dragged me to play badminton at the outdoor court below my house. LOL, walao my badminton skills really cannot make it. Hahahaha!

After which, I bathed and headed out to meet JJ for dinner at Chongpang Hawker. Hehehes, back to carrot cake and char kway teow. Even more excited because their soya bean milk store was opened, and I finally got to drink my soya bean milk with glass jelly. Omg I super miss that!

Wednesday

Oh I'm such a boring person LOL, back to Japanese cuisine at Nihon Mura because Vivian was craving for hot green tea. Don't ever patronise the Cathay Cineleisure Orchard branch, their services suck like shit.

(Salmon Sashimi)

(Chawamushi)

Even their lighting sucks. LOL! Their food is mediocre, and the only thing that I like about the restaurant is their matcha ice cream. LOL, and that's ready-made, it is not even prepared by them.

Went to a few shops because sales, but nothing caught my eye. I saw a very beautiful bag and wanted to twin with Vivian, but they only have display sets. So nope!

(Eighteen Chefs Signature)

A more expensive extension of Eighteen Chefs, their student meals cost a dollar more than the usual price. It feels very atas to step in, but the waiters/waitresses there are very blur. LOL, but okay they very funny.

Served us to our seat but forgot about the menu. Took order for our food, but gave no response even though I kept repeating, then afterwards asked me what I ordered again. Served us food without utensils. After the utensils came, another waiter walked over to give us utensils again. We have two extra sets of utensils in the end. LOL, okay. They are young kids, quite cute. Hahahaha!

(Christmas lights)

Strolled down Somerset to see these pretty Christmas lights, and whee I really like these. (: It feels magical.

Airports see more sincere kisses than wedding halls.
The walls of hospitals have heard more prayers than the walls of churches.

Saturday, December 10, 2016

It's our paradise and it's our war zone.

Busy, busy days ahead. I like the feeling of being busy, because it gives me the false thinking that my life is indeed very productive and meaningful. LOL!

Wednesday:

(Seafood Zuppa)

Featuring my favourite dish 'Seafood Zuppa' from Pasta Mania. They are very generous with their servings of prawns and squids, yeshhh. So HuiQi found a 25% discount voucher (again) for Pasta Mania, so here we go! Hahahas, really glad for HuiQi because she is the discount queen, so these days we tend to go around hunting for cheaper and discounted food. LOL! I'm excited to be saving money!

(Starbucks' Toffee Nut Latte)

Since Starbucks is having a promotion of one-for-one, so we decided to grab a cup each. I really like their Toffee Nut Latte recently, it is a Christmas special drink. Drinking such drinks make me feel that Christmas is really coming! :D All was great except for the fact that they totally changed my name from Angie to N-G?! The customer who was behind me was laughing non-stop, I cannot. I was so embarrassed. T.T

Anyways, we smuggled these drinks into Teoheng KTV. It has been long since I exercised my vocal chords, so great to be finally belting out hit songs over the microphone again! We have some time on our hands, so we decided to catch this movie 'Fantastic Beasts'. Talk about saving money, LOL. But this movie is really not bad! It is much nicer than 'Lulu the Movie', sorry.

(The male lead is so cute geez!)

The beasts were all damn cute! It is worthwhile to watch this, go watch guys!

(My bestie of 8 years)

Munching on Mos Burger, and I was having my unglam moments again because the vegetables from my burger were dropping all over the table. Okay, partially it was because I refused to eat the vegetables and onions, so I chose to pick them all out, so everywhere was a mess. Oops.

I should have just ordered the fish burger instead of the chicken burger. T.T

Thursday:

Finally a half-day at home, and I went back to planning my itinerary for South Korea. Finally tied down the areas of attractions for Busan, and I am currently halfway through Seoul. Three more weeks before we are due to fly, I really cannot wait! :D

Met Amanda for a meesua dinner (that left me feeling very hungry on my way home) first, before heading to our events job. Although we were rusty from the 3-month hiatus, we made no mistakes and I'm thankful that everything went well in the end. I was initially quite worried because I really am quite noobish in the work (hiatus + I didn't work a lot to begin with!). However, I guess there were no other chances in the near future to work together again, because sighs, they said we were too messy processing payments, so....

Sighs. I am dejected.

Sometimes you make me feel like
I'm living at the edge of the world.
"It's just the way I smile", you said.

Work hard in silence. Let success be your noise.

Life's after finals is really good. It has been two weeks ever since my last exam, and I have been out practically everyday. Exhausted, but in a good way I guess :D

Sunday:

(Ripped from animatedimages.org)

It was an impromptu family sports day, LOL! Played table tennis with the family because that was the only sports which I don't have to make advance booking for (since it is not a popular sports). Just a reminder guys, the activesg's free $100 is expiring soon, and in order to extend it, one has to make at least one booking to re-activate it again. So do remember to activate it in order to continue enjoying the benefits! :D

Thanks fam bam for making table tennis sessions always so enjoyable. I think our skills are so noobish that the balls kept flying everywhere and it was quite embarrassing, but ohwell, having fun is the more important than being afraid of getting judged, rights!

(Ripped from buzzfeed.com)

Because you exercised, so you gave yourself the excuse of having the liberty to enjoy some nice desserts:

(New York Cheesecake)

Priced at $3.50, coupled with free parking, my current favourite eating place is the Gain City Megastore @ Sungei Kadut. Delicious food at affordable prices, and best of all there were no queues because the place is quite inaccessible without a car. :D

Monday:

Hot Tomato for lunch with Amanda before we went shopping at Plaza Sing. It feels good to go out with her again. It has been so long?! The only place we meet for the last 4 months has been school, school, and still school. We sure are boring people LOL.

(Seafood Marinara)

After which, we went to the events company for a Pizzahut dinner before the meeting. Finally back after a long 3-month hiatus. They moved to a new place recently, and I think I am the last person to step into the new office? LOL. Oops!

Some things happened, and I am in no position to say anything, but I feel that A is not to be blamed for the matter. If you want something, you have to open your mouth and say it, and not assume that people know what you want and then blame them when you don't get what you want. >.<

Anyways, I always feel very stressed whenever I step foot into the company. I didn't even feel so much stress even when I have to give presentations or attend interviews?! T.T

Tuesday:

Headed out with my sister to catch 'Lulu the Movie', a movie that was filmed, directed and acted by our homegrown star Michelle Chong. I was initially quite excited about it, after watching the trailers and all the youtube promotional videos. However, Amanda watched it before me and warned me against it, but err I decided to ignore her advice and went ahead to watch...

(Ripped from Left Profile)

I wasted my $7. LOL, there was no plot?! What happened to the girlfriend Sonia? What happened to the twin brother? There were many loopholes, and the story weren't complete. I was just confused the whole while. Though I won't deny the multiple hilarious parts of the movie, however most of them appeared in the trailer already so it wasn't as funny. There were many redundant parts as well, such as the street interviews, it seemed as though they were only used to fill up the screen time. I don't see the point of it.

Sighs. I regretted not heeding your advice, Amanda. LOLOL!

But darling, in the end,
you've got to be your own hero,
because everyone's busy trying
to save themselves.

We accept the love we think we deserve.

(Ripped from photovibe.com)

Lack of updates because I have been quite busy these days. Hmm, busy hanging out with friends and planning my Korea itinerary which is a pain in the ass, but ohwell, no pain no gain. I'm looking forward to celebrating New Year in Korea! :D

Just returned from my Cambodia trip a few days ago, :D I really enjoyed myself a lot and it really changed my perceptions of a less developed country. I will post more updates on this after I'm done sorting out the pictures and all!

But I think with my current level of procrastination, it might take some time though, oops. LOL, but ohwell I'm halfway through it already because a few days back, Singtel wifi decided to bail on me. I can only sort out my phone camera gallery without internet access. Hahaha!

~

Anyways, throwback to two weeks ago when I was still having my finals. Hahahas, made cinnamon pancakes with the sister because studying all day will make me a dull girl.

(Self-proclaimed delicious pancakes)

But yay, my finals ended much earlier than most people and we celebrated the end of it with a hearty meal over at Dancing Crab! Check out my first haphazardly done vlog below! I was getting interested in vlogging these days, and hence I decided to do a simple one to test the video application and my vlog making skills, so here it goes. Do watch it and show some support yeahs!

(Post-Final Celebrations)

So I headed over to Vivo City with the sister first to camp at Caffe Bene to wait for my mum and uncle to end work before dinner (and because I have 10% discount voucher for it, auntieyanqi is back).

(Misugaru)

However, I will not return to that place again for its overpriced and not-nice Bingsu, although I have to admit that their Misugaru drink is quite tasty. According to its website, Misugaru is a protein-packed powder which comprises black sesame, black bean, black rice, brown rice and barley. So with these added nutrition, I felt very healthy after drinking it. LOL. And healthy drinks are always expensive. T.T This cost $6.30, almost the price of a Starbucks drink.

Highlight of the day: Crabs!

(My crab is dancing on the table)

First time over at Dancing Crab, and I was quite excited. I have been meaning to go there for a few times with Amanda, but we always decide against it in the end because as poor university students you should not spend unnecessary money on expensive food. Hahahaha!

The total damage is $217. However, it became a rare treat from my uncle (but my mum paid half of it in the end).

We ordered a upgraded version of Combo 1 which comprises a 1.8kg Sri Lankan crab and 300g prawns, with German sausages and corn. Additionally, we ordered another 300g of prawns, coupled with some side dishes as well:

(Spicy Buttermilk Wings)

(Calamari Ring)

The crab was undeniably tender and juicy, and there is really a lot of meat. It is quite fuss-free as the meat is easily detachable from the shell. Only exception is that the sauce did not suit my palate that much -  we ordered its signature spicy sauce (mild).

I think I might prefer other restaurants better. Dancing Crab is slightly on the expensive side, so it was not quite worth it.

After dinner, we hopped over to a few shops because it was the Black Friday sales (screams internally) and I got myself some apparels. :D Happy kid because I have been controlling my shopping urges ever since finals started. Hahahaha!

P.S. Vivo City is really too huge and confusing for a direction-idiot like me. Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise because I will need to exercise (walk) more to burn more calories in order to eat more. LOL.

P.P.S. Rubber band in my mouth is constantly snapping. T.T Troublesome much. Kids please do take care of your teeth and go to the dentist to pluck out all your shaky baby teeth, so you won't have to endure the torture of wearing braces.

Let them sleep while you grind.
Let them party while you work.
Let them see the difference in the results.
