Baby, you have got the keys to my heart.

Happy day because JH got me a bottle of liangcha and some mixed fruit nuts for breakfast. Energy fuel food to last me the entire day :D I'm so glad that I am finally done with one presentation and two article submissions for my financial journalism module. A few more assignments to go before I really graduate T.T

Headed to Populus Cafe with my secondary school pal Vivian Phang! It was located at Tanjong Pagar, which is just opposite the Police Cantonment Complex. It was overall a super expensive meal that costs approximately $20 and to be honest, I didn't really like it because there are too many #vegetables at the side. LOL.

(Heirloom Rendang Donburi - what a fanciful name)

Tried a mouthful of the Chicken Rice Donburi that Vivian ordered, and thought that it tasted slightly nicer than mine. But then again, I don't think the food is any special also? Her bowl comes with chicken cutlet and onsen egg.

(Close-Up Shot)

This rendang bowl was limited edition, according to the menu. LOL. Good marketing technique - I ordered this precisely because it was said to be limited edition. I googled their menu online, and it said that this donburi comes with "homemade heirloom recipe grass fed beef rendang, Peranakan archar, pickles, carrots and Japanese rice". It was fusion food that tasted fine when eat it separately, but not fine when I eat it together. >.<

(Swiss roll that was made from gold)

Accompanied Vivian to the Grassroots Book Room thereafter, because it was just nearby. It has the same concept as the reading room cafe, which means you can grab any books off their bookshelves to read over a cuppa coffee or some sweet desserts. Sounds great, but I am not a book lover so it really does not appeal to me. LOL.

Shared this Swiss roll with Vivian which cost us $7 a slice wth. Daylight robbery is it. They don't have a display for us to choose the cakes, so we just ordered off the menu and this was what they served us. LOL, I was in shock seriously.

Boycotting the cafe. By the way, they have this resident black cat that just runs around the cafe and it scared the hell out of me because it was so swift?! Like it will just jump off bookshelves onto the floor, so x.x

Your love is like the sun,
That lights up my whole world,
I feel the warmth inside.
Your love is like the river,
That flows down through my veins,
I feel the chill inside.

Big mistake, broke the sweetest promise that you never should have made.

Back to our cafe-hopping mission.

(Ramen Risotto)

(Close-up of the Ramen Risotto)

Visited Paddy Hills with Vivian Phang for brunch after our NM4102 classes! (: I read some blog reviews on this particular cafe, and most of the reviews pointed me to this Ramen Risotto dish! It consists of Kurobuta Cha Shu and raw quail's egg yolk. Priced at $25, it is quite flavourful with a creamy texture. However, it might get too much (jelat) at some point.

(黑 MAMI rice)

Vivian got the 黑 MAMI rice, which is also another one of their specialty. It comprises squid ink rice, flap meat and onsen egg. I tried a mouthful and thought it tasted not bad, but Vivian couldn't finish it hahaha!

Overall rating: 8/10

Love the ambience, it was quite a great place to chill and do your work, or chit chat with your friends. We went around 12pm, and the entire place was quite empty, quiet and most importantly, peaceful :D

What a waste

You are not perfect but you are not your mistakes too.

Happiness is when the mother dropped by Bugis to find me for lunch! 😁 She got a shock of her life when she realized that Bugis is unexpectedly crowded. Hello mom, this is town area, what do you expect LOL.

(Mushroom Creme Pasta)

Met my SMU groupmates for dinner to catch up the other day (: It feels so nice because I don't usually keep in contact with my groupmates once our project is over. Furthermore, I'm not a true blue SMU student LOL. Really appreciate that we really make the effort to meet up.

Kaw Kaw SG, recommended by Fatiha, is a great halal Cafe. :D Their chocolate peppermint taste out of the world, and I think their fried portobello is nice too! Good to share because it gets a bit jelat at the end.

(Hari Raya goodies)

Food hunting in the office - I found these nice Hari Raya cookies! It taste different from the cookies I usually eat, and it's less sweet! (: Love it. Not sure who brought it to office, but ohwell I'm just responsible for eating it :P

Speaking of eating, the highlight of this week is that we have buffets for three days straight. I have been eating six to seven meals each day for that three days straight T.T Goodness. I cannot stand myself.

(Desserts)

Eat so much already still eat desserts. LOL, back to Ah Chew Desserts with the fellow interns. I finally ordered my mango sago and it tasted so heavenly! One good thing about working in Bugis is that there's a lot of food places in the vicinity (just that it's not that cheap) x.x

Shut off your phone,

Despite it all, hold tight onto the heart and go.

Went cafe hopping with the mother and sister last week! (: Okay not really considered cafe hopping because we only patronized two eateries. LOLOL! Decided on Holland Village because there are some new restaurants that I want to try! Maybe they are not so new, but it has been ages since I last visited Holland Village luh. #mountaintortoise

Tai Cheong Bakery

There was a queue despite it being a weekday afternoon. But I only queued for approximately 15 minutes, so that's still acceptable. Singaporeans are best at queueing rights! LOL. They have seats for us while queueing, and they also served us cold water to drink in the sweltering hot weather. I rate their service 11/10 :D

(We ordered two yuenyang, aka mixed coffee/tea)

Super excited to come here because I was craving for some Hong Kong delicacies since my visit to Hong Kong last year! :D Brings back wonderful memories yeahs, because it was my first overseas trip with friends!

(Plate of glory)

I super love the scrambled eggs and the bolo bun! It was so worth it for $6.50. The eggs are so soft and milky, like the ones at the Australian Diary eatery back in Hong Kong! I remembered us being so hyped up about their scrambled eggs that we packet our breakfast from that place almost everyday. LOLOL. And the bolo bun is so nice and crispy as well!

(Three-egg macaroni soup in tomato base)

Three-egg basically means three sunny-side up. LOL, I thought it was something more special oops. But the strips of luncheon meat are really very crispy even though they were placed in the soup?! Impressed. (:

(Yong Tau Foo style?)

I forgot what my mother ordered, but it was something like yong tau foo kind. Hahaha, it comes with a plate of noodles. The dish may seem very mediocre, but it actually taste nice. Hahaha, especially the fishballs,  and I love the cuttlefish (: Not at all spicy!

(Beef brisket curry rice)

This is the best dish! The beef chunks are so tender, and the curry is not very spicy which is suitable for kids (and me). LOL! They have generous servings of potatoes as well (but I hate potatoes okay can, I passed them all to my sister who really enjoyed it).

We came in with an empty stomach but left the restaurant with a satisfied tummy. (: I read reviews before heading down and I realized that they only serve mains from 11am to 2.30pm. Take note of the time, it's better to come down early to queue because there's limited seats. By the way, the mains are mostly priced below $10, so it's really quite affordable compared to the rest of the cafes in Holland Village. And oh, remember to grab their famous egg tarts as well!

Haakon

(Acai)

Finally tried my first bowl of Acai. Hahaha! I have always wanted to try it given the hype, it's just that it's quite pricey so hmm... Anyways, I was contemplating between Project Acai and Haakon, both of which are located in Holland Village, but in the end I decided on this because the bowl seems bigger (?) LOL!!

For all the health junkies out there, Haakon sells Acai bowls, fresh pressed juices, salads and poke bowls as well. The prices are steep, but I guess it's because they are healthy food, so once in a while it's good to indulge. (: But okay, it really is expensive. This bowl costs $12.90. T.T

We ordered pink pitaya and chia bowl, which is pitaya blended with chia seed, topped with passion fruit and granola which gives that extra crunch to the taste. The description reads that this bowl is especially good for immunity boosting, and digestive aid, as well as double up as a beauty food.

Maybe during the holidays I can go experiment and try to make my own Acai bowl LOL. To be honest, I didn't know pitaya was dragonfruit until I went to google. #ignorant Doesn't the name sound like a type of nut?!!

There are two kinds of people in the world. Those who keep you grounded, and those who weigh you down.

Three weeks into my part-time internship and I was already feeling the shagness. Sometimes I question my life decisions, why did I even take up this internship when I'm studying full-time in NUS. Moreover, I'm not even underloading - I'm taking the average workload in school. LOL. My exhaustion, I brought it upon myself yeahs. T.T But then again, being busy gives me the false impression that I'm productive. LOLOL. The feeling feels so good.

(Parmesan Garlic Fries)

Throwback to my first lunch with the colleagues. They brought me to this atas cafe called Wine Mansion located at Outram Park. The walk from the MRT was so complicated that I have no idea how to go there again without the help of Google maps. LOL. Anyways, we wanted to get truffle fries initially but cries, they changed their menu so there's no truffles fries anymore. We ordered parmesan garlic fries instead and it tasted superb as well! The portion is so generous, gosh.

(Shashukha)

This is a dish of beef gravy, eggs and bread. Quite interesting yeahs?! It is scrumptious too! I'm quite happy that my colleagues can all take beef, LOLOL. Anyways, I swear the whole group of us was being quite 'suagu' because we kept asking the waiter questions. To be honest, the menu looked alien to me because I cannot understand what are the dishes half the time. I mean, how would I know what's this 'shashukha' rights? I went to google, and I realized that it is of Tunisian origin, and it quite a popular dish in Middle East and North Africa. #interestingfacts

(Beef Kebab)

This is the main highlight of the day! I ordered beef kebab, but regretted instantly because the beef was quite overcooked. Should have stick to the chicken instead, it is more tender. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed the dish. The portion they gave was so huge that I only managed to finish the entire beef kebab, half the rice and a few mouthfuls of salad. LOL. My colleagues looked at my speed of eating and went "I'm sure you cannot finish". Hahas, yeahs I really cannot finish. Gosh. This is too much.

The cafe is actually not bad yeahs. I only paid $15 in total for everything, and I was seriously stuffed to death. I had a food coma after that, so I kept dozing off at my work table. LOL, oops. #exposed

Anyways, thanks for recommending such an interesting place! It was quite cheap considering the quality of the food (and it is a cafe LOL), and they specializes in wine. I don't know how to drink wine luh. T.T

Travel far enough, you meet yourself.

End of Week 4 internship.

Two new interns joined us last week and our lunch group just expanded to 9 of us. LOL, what a big group. Grateful to all of them because it has been a long while since I have such a big group of friends. Hehehes (: As the internship is coming to an end, I can't help but feel sad. I really like this bunch of intern friends. Wouldn't trade them for anyone else.

(Udon)

I forgot which eatery I went to, but it was a small shop tucked in a corner at Square 2. It is beside Pastamania to be exact. This bowl of goodness costs $8.90. It tasted not bad!

Spending way too much for lunch as an intern. LOL, I compared my lunch expenses with Amanda the other day, and it was horrifying to find that I actually spent double of hers?! Wth. Consequences of having male intern friends who eat like there's no tomorrow. After lunch, there will always be desserts and tea. Gosh. And I will join them in buying also, because temptations. Ahhh.

Work-life balance. I scheduled a lot of meetups with friends as well, :D But it is tiring to go out after work. Sighs.

1. Meetup with the NM people

First group of friends I found in NM. Thanks for making me believe that making genuine friends in University is not impossible. I'm glad that I can continue walking down the rest of my University life with y'all. :D

(Ripped from therantingpanda.com)

Went Koh Grill and Sushi Bar for dinner and I finally tried Shiok Maki! It is really Shiok! Advantage of going out in big groups: you can order more variety and pay lesser. Hahaha! We tried their stir-fried noodles and seafood fried rice as well, and really, it was the nicest rendition that I have ever eaten! I finally understood what all the rave is about HAHAHA.

(Ice Lab)

First time trying Ice Lab, and hmm, I felt that it was overrated. LOL, definitely prefer Oma'spoon or Nunsaram over this!

2. Meetup with Vivian Phang

My good old secondary school friend. Hahaha! It's funny how we are both in the same major yet we seldom see each other in school. Hmm, but always a good catch up session with her.

We headed to Sunday Folks for dinner. Waffles for dinner? Hahaha yup, we are insane. Vivian said she has a craving for ice and waffles, so off we go!

(Still looks good)

However, I guess it has been a long time since I last stepped in Sunday Folks. Everything changed omg. The counter now doesn't display the different ice cream flavours. Instead it is replaced by a display of colourful cakes. And we have problems deciphering the menu, so there are some hiccups in the ordering process. LOL.

(The Red Turtle)

After dinner, we travelled all the way to The Projector for a movie! Omg, it is a place whereby I have always wanted to try just that it is very far so I'm lazy to travel. Excuses I know LOL. $11.50 for the movie ticket, I think is quite pricey but for the experience, it is worth it!

The movie plot was about this man shipwrecked on a tropical island, and how he fell in love with a turtle-turned-woman. Hahaha reminds me of the recent drama that I just watched - Legend of the Blue Sea - whereby the male lead fell in love with a mermaid-turned-woman. Hahahaha!

3. Dinner with Vivian Ng

Dropped by Bugis to meet this babe! Cheapskate us ate Eighteen Chef for dinner because there is the $6.40 student meal deal. (: Ordered my favourite baked rice with the mango sauce. Hehehe :D Save money for dinner, so can get dessert!

(Nunsongyee)

First time trying as well. It is not bad, but it is on the expensive side. So I still prefer O'ma Spoon or Nunsaram! (: Got our favourite chocolate banana flavor!

4. Tea with the sister

Went out of office last Friday and lucky me got to knock off earlier. (: The sister decided to jio me for bingsu because she was in the vicinity. Geeez, always make use of me to pay for her cravings ehs T.T

(Nunsaram)

Got the large Tiramisu because there is 20% discount hehehes! I like the cake, but nahs, my verdict is that tiramisu don't go well with bingsu LOL!

But yeahs, I think I may be insane for eating bingsu three times this week. But I'm never getting sick of it. Especially if the weather is going to continue like this - damn hot. (:

Tell me the story about how the sun loved the moon so much he died every night to let her breathe.

Hiatus for a week because it has been a real busy week. I have been busy studying for my midterm and staring at schools for SEP application at the same time. Sighs. Tiring. Why can't they make the process easier. Arghs, SEP application is a freaking burden. Can't wait for school to be over in a few weeks time!

On a side note, my professor and tutor need to learn how to be more efficient in marking our test scripts/assignments and quickly return them to us. Tsktsk.

Anyways, these are the remains of my recess week:

Finally got the chance to head to The Missing Pan cafe, but LOL the food they serve do not really suit my tastebuds. Geeez. And I'm not sure about the flow of customers, but I reached there around 8pm and there wasn't many people around, so the waitress was quite free (ie. keep using phone instead of attending to customers).

(Eggs Benedict)

I was really looking forward to this because it has been eons since I last ate Eggs Benedict, but ahhh it left me feeling disappointed. Sighs. There is this faint wasabi taste and some veggie puree which they spread on the egg. I dislike wasabi sighs. The entire dish just taste weird, even JJ thinks so. Give me my hollandaise sauce!

(Carbonara)

This tasted pretty decent though. It is quite rich and flavourful. And the colour of the dish is also beautiful!

(Green Tea Latte)

My all-time-favourite drink in cafes! I absolutely love green tea lattes! Mediocre latte art, but it is alright. :D

It is located at some ulu district in Bukit Timah but accessible by MRT, but I doubt I will return again because the Egg Benedict is really a disappointment. And yup, the bill came up to ~$56. Money fly away again.

~

Dedicated a day for Career Catalyst since they say it is a compulsory module for internship. Although I haven't manage to secure one yet, this kind of thing, just go first hahahas!

The front part was quite useless, where we learn more about ourselves and interests. The behind part was more useful whereby we learn more about interview techniques and err tips on networking. But sighs, the workshop is held from 9am to 5pm, so my entire day was practically wasted. Sighs.

~

And then, Mad for Garlic with Huiqi. It is quite worth it because Huiqi has a voucher. Yazzzz! :DD

(Snowing Pizza)

Though the toppings are quite simple (namely garlic, shrimps, hotdogs and cheese), it is quite addictive somehow. The crust is thin yet crispy. It is still better to share the pizza with someone else because you might get sick of it after a few slices.

(Lobster Cream Pasta)

I think I tasted lobster in it, and the fish roe. This pasta also quite worth it!

Useful voucher because we only ended up paying $15 each, which is quite reasonable consideeing that it is a classy restaurant located at Suntec City. 赚到了! Will go back again soon, once I find someone. HAHAHA!

And now let's get to reality. Back to our books to study.

Flames, they licked the wall, tenderly.
They turned to dust all that I adore.

Dreams are memories of the soul.

The golden sand of the hourglass continues to fall, grain by grain. Can't believe it is already the third week of my university life, and I felt that I have not gotten anything done. T.T Oh screw you upside down, yanqi!

Last week has been pretty much eventful. I only had three days of school, but I'm out almost every other day. I felt as though my soul has been suck up dry as I forced myself out of the house. :/ I am just lazy geeez.

I met with my babygirl for lessons as usual. It's good to have some company for lessons. Someone told me that it's okay to be alone. But being the blur me, I cannot survive alone in a module. >.< I will probably miss out some important information, write down the wrong notes, with no friends to consult my work with. I hate being a loner. T.T Sighs. I have low self esteem and am too dependent on people. That need to be changed. :3

(45 minutes worth of waiting time for free Bingsu!)

(Virgin experience at Platypus with Amanda after that)

And there's birthday celebrations as well. Which also means a hole in my wallet. /sobs/ But Happy birthday Kenneth and Peggy, you guys are still loved by me. (:

(Forced him to hold the camera)

(Astons for dinner)

He surprised me when he ordered the double-up chicken, soup of the day with a complimentary garlic bread, and even Starbucks after dinner. How the hell can a guy stuff all those down his throat?! Too much, omg.

P.S. Astons don't serve iced water for free. It freaking costs 30cents a cup. T.T I hate this kind of restaurants. Why must I pay for plain water?!

And soon after, it was Peggy's birthday. Came up with a surprise plan with Vivian, and I'm proud to say that it was a huge success! :D That shocked expression that she gave me while I walked in on their dinner with balloon and gift was priceless. Hahahahas!

(Featuring our new love Spongebob.)

But lesson learnt: don't attempt to hold a helium balloon on the MRT during peak hours if you do not wish to be squashed. I was trying to protect the balloon and I ended up getting pushed and swore at. Zzz. I wanted to swear back, but I held back because I am demure and gentle. LOLOLOL! :D

We enjoyed a great meal at The Sushi Bar, with desserts at the highly-raved P.S.Cafe.

(Super overpriced, but tasted amazing like hell)

(Double Chocolate Cake)

(Chocolate Banana Cheesecake)

But the cakes were sadly disappointing. Maybe I have too high an expectation of the cakes since I had heard tons of great reviews on it. That's bad. :3 And they were definitely not affordable. T.T They cost $16 and $15 respectively, excluding GST and service charge. Zzz. Not going back anymore.

Now I wish money would drop from the sky.

And if they want to leave, hold the door open for them.

Sundays.

I like lazy Sundays, where my pace of life is slow and I can finally relax. Life's good! :D NOT. Arghs. I had driving lessons early in the morning (after stopping lessons for such a long time), followed by dental appointment. But ohwell, after the 'morning rush hour', I headed down to this little newly-opened cafe, Three Lefts, in my housing estate with le sister.

(I actually had a hard time trying to figure out the shop name LOL)

So we ordered our all-time favourite ice cream waffles. Rum and Raisins ice cream atop this thick crispy waffle at a price of $7.20. The ice cream is just meh, with not much alcoholic taste (which is what I liked most unfortunately). To be honest, it just tasted like vanilla. Omg, horrible. T.T The waffle is way too thick for my liking. :3 *thumbs down*

(The super unappetizing ice cream waffle)

T.T Sighpie, got my hopes so high because we finally had an ice cream cafe in the estate but it turned out to be ..... Even using the word 'mediocre' is too highly for them. :/

(Chocolate Butter Cake)

Recently, I was addicted to eating chocolately sweet treats. So I got myself this Han's Butter Cake and it tasted damn awesomely good?!? Hahahahahas! :D I ate it for my breakfast, tea and supper. I'm insane ohgawd. By the way, Crystal Jade's Chocolate Roll is great as well, but the branch in Yew Tee closed down already T.T I can cry.

(Check out my Awfully Chocolate treat from my aunt)

(Looks like poop LOL)

Find it a little sweet, but I'm on a strike for chocolate sweet treats now, so I stomached this entire thing down as well. The chocolate is damn rich and all, and I was so full after everything! Living the good life now. I'm loving it!~

2am and the rain is falling.
Here we are at the crossroads once again.
You're telling me you're so confused.
You can't make up your mind.
Is this meant to be, you are asking me.

If I could wish upon tomorrow, tonight would never end.

Happy last Friday because I dragged Manda down for a Macs breakfast. Finally satisfied my cravings, woohoo! All thanks to idiot L who kept tempting me with pictures of Macs during my exam period >.<

(My favourite hotcakes with sausage)

Trudged back home under the scorching weather because I have nothing to do before meeting L for dinner later. And unfortunately I dozed off on the sofa for approximately an hour and spent the rest of the time nua-ing on bed. Omg. What a waste of time -.-

Dinner @ Crystal Jade, Holland Village

(Free flow of xiaolongbao!)

Hahahahas, this is like the main focus of the dinner. Wanted to order 5 plates of it, but I was chided by L for acting like some typical auntie. So I ordered 2 plates for a starter. (That moment when the waitress served 5 plates of xiaolongbao to the table next to us >.<).

Then we had the typical steamboat buffet. Hehehes, tasted not bad. I had all the prawns to myself because L was too lazy to eat it and he even rejected my prawns although I helped him shelled it. But okay, it means more prawns to me hehehes. It tasted delicious! Yummz! :D

So there's a time limit of 1.5h and the funny waitress carried our steamboat pot away exactly after 1.5h. Like literally. No kidding. There's still tons of food inside our pot but she carried it away. LOLOL Wth like what even. Hahahahas. They are quite strict about the time. :/ By the way, for those interested, the meal cost $30 per pax after GST and service charge and whatnots.

Chilled at Coffeebean after the dinner. And I ordered Double Chocolate coffee ice-blended that Weina recommended last time. And it still taste as good as ever. Hehehes, happykid96. Wonder how L even drowned down one cup of tea before dinner and another cup after dinner?! I'm like so freaking full?!

(Chocolate roll from Duke Bakery)

Sorry random post here but this bread really tastes heavenly. Hahahahas. Somebody recommended ro me and my sister verified the taste, so I went CityHall to get it specially. And I don't regret travelling so far just to get it. Woohoo! Goodness in my tummy.

We had no ending, no said goodbye.
For all my life, I'll wonder why.

There is no sincerer love than the love for food.

Needle in the haystack, limited edition.
Rare and original, indeed.
Thanks Vian ☆

(I love huggies)

(Smiley smiley)

Long overdued post, but thanks to le bestie for bringing me out to Lady M, Orchard Central. We have to meet up soon! Missing my cafe-hopping days. Awww, thanks for giving me something to look forward to after a long day at work.

(Eggs Benedict with salmon)

First impression: great wobbly eggs
I love it! But hahahas, the dish looks abit plain though with no 'side-dishes' at the side lmao, but it tasted great nonetheless! :D

(Tarte Au Citron)

My new-found love: Citrus tarts
I love the sour taste lingering on my tongue. LOLOL! I figured my favourite is no longer cheesecake, but citrus-flavoured tarts. ♡

(Vanilla Mille Crepe)

It smells nice, but a little too bland for me. I prefer something with a stronger taste; maybe I should have ordered the green tea crepe instead. But ohwell! The crepe cake itself is nice and I enjoy peeling the layers of it while savouring it in my mouth. :D

A short meet-up over dinner is what I need to revitalise for the week. 谢了! Happy midweek everybardy!
