In life, you are either a passenger or a pilot, it's your choice.

I have been meeting up with a lot of new friends recently. New friends by whom I mean friends I made during my university days. It is great to be mixing around with new people, but I cannot help myself from thinking: Where did all my old friends went to?

Those people whom I hold dearly to, I sudddenly feel that they are so far away from me suddenly. Everyone is too busy with their own lives, and we stopped updating each other also? Are these signs of growing up?

~

I'm so used to seeing C everyday in Korea during my summer school, that it feels weird now to see him again in Singapore LOL. Anyways, there's promotion every Monday at the Standing Sushi Bar, so off we go! $3 for 5 salmon sashimi slices, it is quite worth it rights! :D

(30 salmon sashimi slices)

Hahaha, astonishing number of sashimi we ordered. To clarify, only 10 pieces were mine. :D See who's the glutton!

(Garlic Rice)

I'm feeling a little hungry so I got myself some carbs! (: This was highly recommended by C and it was really nice?!

Singapore Art Museum was just nearby so we decided to pop by. And it was a right decision, there's so many nice artsy-fartsy things to see even though we stayed there for maximum an hour only. LOL.

(I have no idea what this is)

I'm not artistic, so I cannot appreciate this kind of art. LOLOL, my purpose of going to museums is because (1) free entry for Singaporeans and PR so it is a good way to pass time (2) take nice photos but I don't post them on Instagram ah.

(I like this!)

(And this)

(This is the best)

But these have got to be my favourite exhibitions in the entire museum. I really love the splash of colors! It just makes me feel happy and excited just looking at them.

(Headless Creature)

This is another exhibition that I like! It features many headless creatures, so it was a little scary at first sight. But then, I really like the idea! And the colors. Yeahs, I'm a very visual person.

(I couldn't resist pulling it)

Hahaha, I feel that everyone is just judging us. LOLOL! :D Thanks C for being so accomodating. Hehehes!

(Tom's Palette)

I remembered how my colleagues used to tell me how wonderful the ice-cream from Tom's Palette was, but we never get around to trying it. But yay, since we were in the vicinity this time round, C brought me there. (:

I really love the Yuzu's flavor! It was very refreshing, so it was just excellent for Singapore's weather! The other ice cream flavor, Granny's favourite, is also a good choice! But it is not yanqi's favourite. LOLOL. They have lemongrass flavor as well, bonus bonus? Hahaha! (:

A truly happy day with C! Thanks for bringing me all around, treating me to nice food and satisfying my photography needs. LOL! For helping me find the best lighting or the best angle, and for helping me take photos. You are really the best!

Love is just a word until you find someone to give it a definition.

A very busy week indeed. I thought that after I come back from Korea, I can rest well at home before starting school. But nope, I was wrong. So wrong. T.T I'm so busy meeting up with everyone ohgosh. And I'm super exhausted now.

1. Dinner with the family

(Comfort food)

The first thing I ate after I landed in Singapore was Meesiam. LOL, I was craving badly for carrot cake but apparently I cannot find it in the airport, so I just settled for Meesiam. The Meesiam was good too! The rest of the family ordered Rendang and Curry Chicken, which were equally good! I just kope a few mouthfuls here and there. Hehehes :D

Update: I still haven't eat my carrot cake after being in Singapore for two weeks already?! Zzz.

2. Dinner with the relatives

(Duck)

Had dinner with the grandparents and relatives on the next day after I landed. First time trying 店小二 and I was astonished by the quality of food they serve. LOLOL. You know, everytime I walk past the restaurant, I see nobody. It was quite dim, so it gave off the creepy vibes, so I had never step foot into the restaurant before...

Until now.

I was feeling a little adventurous, so I decided to give it a chance. :D Glad that I did, because their food was really scrumptious! They serve healthy food, like wheatgrass tofu. Yay to healthy eating! :D And their dishes were not oily and all, my palates approve!

3. Time for some exercise

(Dairy Farm Nature Reserve)

(Don't be fooled, there's actually A LOT of stairs)

After all the binge eating, I felt the need to exercise. Had I mentioned that I gained a total of 3kg during my 6 weeks stay in Korea?! It was so horrible gosh. Decided to go hiking at Dairy Farm Nature Reserve. It was my first time there, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the words "Bukit Timah Hill" the moment I reached the peak? LOL what even. So they have different routes leading to the same place ah!

The usual route that I took to ascend Bukit Timah Hill was the one that starts at the visitor center. There's a lot of upslopes there! And if you want to do even more vigorous hiking, you can consider taking the path from Dairy Farm. I developed a phobia of stairs already since my experience at Korea LOL!

4. So after exericising, you can eat some more

(Seafood Fried Rice)

(Curry Chicken)

(Pattaya)

Back to our favourite place, Gain City @ Sungei Kadut. Hehes :D Ordered a different dish this time, Pattaya, it was very delicious but on the expensive side. T.T Wanted to get the rainbow cake for dessert, but they ran out of it. Sighs, why!!!

P.S. They renovated the entire place so it was more spacious now, I like. :D

P.P.S. I 'invested' in a vacuum cleaner because the saleperson was damn good at selling. LOL, wth?!

I froze in time between the hearses and caskets,
lost control when I panicked at the acid test.
I want to get better.
I want to start strumming again, just like the old times.
I want to start sketching again, just like the old times.
I want to start enjoying the beauty of this world again,
just like the old times.
I want to be who I used to be, but better, much better.
Just wait for me, world.

Hope is being able to see the light despite all the darkness.

"There is something about you that is twisted and thrilling - that moves me to live wilder and without reservation. I suddenly feel the urge to be rash and spontaneous, to get myself into trouble and travel to faraway places.

You are multitudes. A muse. A masterpiece. A magic thing. The single thing in all this existence that genuinely steals my breath away.

Thanks to you, I cling to the now instead of the past. I want to soar, act, thrive and prosper. I want to move, grow, flourish and further the boundaries of who I am and what I believe I can be. This is what you've nurtured in me. Conviction and confidence. Strength and stature. Determination and complete disregard for the insecurities and toxicity former loves have indoctrinated in me. I finally feel myself again. I finally feel free."

Pictures are the masters of deception.

When you edit your videos halfway and everything just crash on you, and you realised you didn't save the project... Arghs. Super waste time omg. Maybe it's really time to invest in a good laptop. T.T

One month ago, we celebrated two occasions - Father's Day and Daddy's birthday! :D Glad that they are just a few days apart, which means we can combine the two different occasions and celebrate them together. HAHAHAHA Cheapskate us. :D

Mummy recommended Marche Movenpick @ JEM because she tried once with her friend and she said it was good. (: My first time here though!

(Salmon Spaghetti)

(Duck Pizza)

The pizza was huge and one was sufficient for four people. It was really fantastic, Pizza Hut please step aside. Hahahaha! The salmon spaghetti was also great, but I feel it to be a tad pricey. For the same price, I rather get another pizza! More worth it rights!

(Daddy's favourite Black Forest)

I used to get him different cake flavours during his birthdays every year, but after he told me his favourite is still Black Forest, it has been Black Forest every year since then.

Happy Birthday Daddy! (:

(Soup Spoon)

I went on a date with mummy the other day too! Finally we have some time alone - just the two of us. Hahaha :D I really love student deals at Soup Spoon. Two more years to enjoying student meals, which means graduation will come soon and I'm so not looking forward to it. Sighs.

Let "thank you" be your daily mantra.

Finally finished watching the Korean drama W after so long. LOL, gosh. I'm so behind time hahaha. There's still two more weeks to school reopening, is it time to catch another drama? (:

Being in Korea for a month means missing Singapore's food greatly. Throwback to our Malay lunch at IMM with the family! Malay food so nice but so expensive. T.T

(Nasi Bryani)

(Nasi Lemak)

I also tried Shilinfang with Fuchun. We wanted to dine at Astons initially but the queue was so long and we were already famished, so we gave up. Walked around Jcube and we saw a Pikachu mascot outside the Shilinfang giving out flyers. The Pikachu is a little distorted by the way, but anyways I have feels for hotpot so here we go!

(The rabbit seemed out of place)

To be honest, the restaurant gave me the creeps. Hahaha! The waitress led us to this corner seat which I really detested because we were facing the wall. And it was already so stuffy and humid the moment I sit down, I couldn't imagine what will happen when the hotpot arrived. Is it I get to steam my face T.T Tsktsk. We requested for a change in seats and were finally given a table. A proper table.

(Robot is standing in the middle of nowhere)

Heard from Xiaofang that the robot was supposed to serve us our food and drinks. But I guess it was not functioning on the day I went. It totally was a road blockage - standing in the middle of nowhere.

(Cartoon cups and tissue boxes)

I understand that the restaurant was supposed to be seafood theme (see: fishes paintings on the walls). However, there were also many plushies and cartoons appearing out of nowhere. It's like culture clash??? Very weird indeed.

(But yay to $10 hotpot!)

(Meat, meat, and more meat)

There wasn't a huge selection, and the quantity given was quite little. However, for the price you pay ($10), I think it is still reasonably priced. Personally, I still prefer the Japanese hotpot soup base though (e.g. Sukiyaki).

But first time meeting Fuchun, and I'm glad that things weren't awkward. :D Thanks for the two cans of drinks. Hehehes!

Sushi Express with L the other day because he said he haven't tried it yet. It's quite meh. There's very little selection, and the food doesn't taste as nice. I guess it was worth very cent we paid. LOL, I rather go eat Genki Sushi though, which is slightly more expensive but at least it taste awesome! Hahahaha! :D

(Chocolates from Russia)

Really excited to taste this because it is my first time receiving something from Russia! And also because I have not travelled there yet. LOL! Is it I suaku T.T

Thanks for not forgetting me. (:

Heartbreak and war.

Time flies, and today mark my second last week in Korea. Gosh, one month ago I was still feeling very depressed that I have to end internship early in order to go for my summer school. But now, I guess I have gotten use to life in Korea and I don't really want to head back...

Shall clear all my backdated posts first before churning out my blogposts on my Korea adventure :D This post is on the things I did on my last week before flying to Korea hehehes!

1. Dinner with Junhao

(Ramen Keisuke Lobster King)

Junhao brought me to Ramen Keisuke Lobster King (Clarke Quay) for dinner the other day. It was my first time there, so I'm really excited! I ordered the rich lobster broth, whilst he ordered the miso lobster broth. Guess whose is nicer hahahaha! :P Of course is mine, flips hair. LOL!

After which, we headed to the National Museum. I guess we are idiots HAHAHA. Apparently we saw some nice exhibitions on Instagram and we wanted to visit them to take some instaworthy photos (talk about shallow LOL). However, we didn't check the opening hours, and guess what. None of the exhibitions were opened when we reached there. T.T Unlucky yanqi strikes again gosh.

2. Yellow Day at Macs

(Minions Potatoes)

(So cutesy)

Not a fan of Minions but I'm glad that Macs rode on this Minion wave because I really love this yellow color theme! On a side note, the minion potatoes are very cute but they tasted quite mediocre ehs. The typical "好看不好吃" food. LOL.

(My favorite)

These banana cones are really good. They are so good that I ate it for three/four times before I fly to Korea. LOL! There's really the banana taste, and personally I thought that it resembles the banana milk from Korea! (: i love it so much, but I heard that Macs no longer sell these banana cones. Sighs. By the way, their banana pies are good also! :D

3. Dinner with Family

(Hungry Jack)

Favourite Western food stall at food courts. It is just so worth it to get the set hahaha. Main course with sides (fries and salad), as well as a bowl of soup, cost only $9.90. :D Speaking of Western food, I'm missing it sighs. Korea only mainly serve Korean food...

4. Lunch with Mummy

(Noodles)

Last lunch before I flew to Korea!

I'm already missing all my Singapore food! My fish ball noodles, my laksa, my minced pork noodles! I was thinking about this one late night: perhaps I should migrate to Korea and open a chain of fishball noodles shop here. I think quite profitable lehs!!

I think it is great to find out someone's story. I think it's even better when you become a part of it.

This was a super backdated post. Oops!

I ended my internship two weeks ago. It was my first internship, and to be honest, it was to a company that I have never ever thought of joining, or rather interning at. Hahahaha, it totally doesn't suit my personality but ohwell, I have no choice because I was rejected by many companies after knowing that I am only going to intern for a short period of time. Like really super short period of time. T.T

But no regrets. I really love this internship. The jobscope, the work culture and most importantly, my team and my fellow interns. (:

(Farewell gifts from my supervisor and colleagues)

This is so cute?! Hahahaha, thank you all for being so patient with me, for guiding me, and for giving me advice on life/work. I have the chance to interact with many colleagues and to work with them for various programs (or rather shadow them LOL). It was absolutely a good opportunity to see what my future media job entails.

(Farewell lunch treat)

I'm so blessed, my assistant director Simon Ng treated the entire team to lunch at Kenny Rogers for my farewell. It is a restaurant located at Velocity, Novena, that serves Western food. I was famished that day, and so I ordered as such (as shown in the picture) and everyone commented on how much carbs I'm taking. LOLOL, paiseh I just want to be full. But anyways, this restaurant is freaking expensive ah...

(Interns ftw)

And not forgetting my cute interns: John, Shaokai, Jasmine, Jiawen, Huiyi, Donovan, Richmond, Isaac and Rachel who is not in the picture. LOL, it was such a large group yet I was so amazed that we can actually bond quite well?! LOL, I miss eating lunches with them, going home with them on the dot. Sighs, just because I left the internship early, please forget me not. :D

(My cute New Media Team)

Special thanks to my supervisor, Winnie. Thanks for bringing me everywhere for various events, not to mention, shoots and filmings. I was quite involved in the filming for the K9 dogs and I was amazed by myself, because I am really scared of dogs. LOLOL! (:

Not to forget, my other colleagues: Evelyn, Kexin and Jianhao. They really helped and guided me a lot. Thanks for believing in me and giving me the chance to take charge of projects, like the interviewing of candidates. LOLOL, gosh. I was so nervous for it.

To be honest, I really felt saddened by the fact that I would not be able to see the project, that I embarked on with my fellow interns, to the end. Sighs. At that point in time, I really wish to extend my internship arghs but I can't. Isaac was saying that perhaps I can extend, then take leave for a month (because I was due for summer school). HAHAHAHA What nonsense!

(Jasmine, my partner-in-crime)

My fellow intern from the same team under different supervisors. Hahahaha, what would I do without you. I will always remember the times the both of us sharing a laptop to do work. LOLOL, thanks for being there because my workload is halved. I'm sorry that my absence meant that you have to tank everything by yourself. But I'm sure you will enjoy it! :D

(The closest interns)

Thanks for always bullying me, and giving me the strength to grow and fight back HAHAHA!

Sighs, speaking of that, recently the interns had the chance to meet Nathan Hartono and had their pictures taken with him. What on Earth?! Can I just fly back to Singapore now sobs.

(The NS boys)

My former intern, YanYi. Even though we only worked together for a week, thanks for giving me all the tips and advices, e.g. Who to look out for in the office. LOLOL! So stroked to find out that she also joined the Criminal Behavioural Analysis Competition (CBAC) which I also did join. HA, so the interns and the NS guys should stop laughing at me for taking half-day leave (and slogging my guts off through OT-ing to compensate the hours) just to join this competition.

Then we have the NSboys HsienHean and ChiHian. Just endure for awhile more because y'all are going to ORD soon! Thanks for being the big brothers in my life, for tolerating all my nonsense. Hahaha!

I always pester HsienHean to help me login to the computer because somehow my account was shut down T.T And I actually nagged at ChiHian, my cubicle mate, to stop throwing his food waste and packaging into the wastepaper baskets at our cubicle because it will attract cockroaches. LOLOL!

(Farewell gifts)

I got my team some tea and biscuits from Marks and Spencers. They are not the cheapest, but I really like the packaging and I hope it taste good! :D The broke me can only afford oreos for my interns and other colleagues HAHAHAHA.

I took pictures with the team leaders Diana, Edward and Ricky as well. The pictures are on my Instagram you can check them out hehehes. Uniformed man lehs :D

All in all, I really thank everyone for their help and guidance. I really enjoyed my short stinct here. It was a good experience and to be honest, I'm actually thinking if I should apply to go back and intern during my next break HAHAHAHA.
