True friends grow separately without growing apart.

I was recently addicted to this NESCAFE coffee. Put it in the fridge, and you are good to go. (: Hahaha, why nobody ever tell me that this is so fabulous?!

(NESCAFE Coffee)

NUS is so horrible to close down Utown's Koufu. They will be closed for renovation works all the way till January 2018. No... Where do I get my iced teh cino fix in the meantime?! Walao, Foodclique doesn't sell it. Zzz.

Anyways, I was caught in the train breakdown the other day when I went to visit the grandparents. So I ended up taking a longer route and reached home two hours later when I usually only take one hour here, zzz.

Sighs, I wonder how the water even got in the MRT tunnel T.T But kudos to those who worked overnight to solve the problem. It was a big problem because it would have been best to close down the MRT and solve the root problem, but there would be too many inconveniences without MRT. T.T Sighs, life is never easy.

But anyways, since I'm stuck at the North, we went to try this eatery called Thailily recommended by my relatives. It is located beside Braddell MRT.

(Kang Kong)

A different cooking style from the usual sambal kangkong which I always eat. This one is not bad, but kangkong will always taste better when cooked with sambal. Anyone else agrees?? :D

(Minced pork with basil leaves)

This is the bomb guys :D

(Pad Thai)

It has been long since I last tasted delicious pad thai, but unfortunately, I experienced yet another round of disappointment with this dish. The taste is not there yet though x.x But they are really generous with their seafood though, check out that gigantic squid! :D

(Green Chicken Curry)

This dish must order! It wasn't too spicy which is good for people like me who cannot take spicy. LOL #weak They have many chicken chunks also, so it is worthwhile for the money! Good to share.

(Tapioca)

This is another disappointing dish. I preferred the ones at Bali Thai though! I'm not sure if they still have tapioca there because it has been 'decades' since I last went there.

The bill comes up to $30 for three pax which I felt was very reasonable. The servings are quite generous so the meal was filling. However, there are some hits and misses. 80% recommended! By the way, most of the people there ordered their fish, so I reckoned the fish should taste amazing. (:

Also, a shoutout to all the university students out there! It's already Week 10 now (at least in NUS), the semester is coming to an end soon, so persevere and keep going! Good luck! I just need to survive 3 more psychology tutorials before reading week. LOL. That's my motivation HAHAHA Jialat.

She began to measure herself in contentment and laughter.

Happy birthday to the best friend with the most beautiful heart! 😊

(Ripped from Tumblr)

Birthdays come around every year, but friends like her only come once in a lifetime. Thanks for coming into my life 9 years ago. Can't believe we have known each other for so long?! To be honest, I didn't even think we can click initially. Our personalities and thinking are so different, I thought we would clash LOL. I still remember that after the streaming exercise in secondary one, I was forced to separate from the rest of my clique and have to join her clique because I don't know anyone else in the new class. Thanks for accepting me then, and thanks for keeping this friendship alive. They say that friendships that sustain for more than 7 years will last for a lifetime. So she is stuck with me for life, LOL!

(Check out my summer school vlog if you haven't!)

Didn't have a proper recent photo with Hui Qi because we always forgot to take pictures together when we go out T.T But here's the link to my Korea Summer School vlog that featured my bestie hehes! I was reminiscing the times in Korea as I watched the video again. Reasons why I love making vlogs, it really help to keep the memories fresh yeahs!

(小笼包)

21st birthdays are a great deal, but I'm sorry I didn't do enough for her. We should have went out to have fun or go somewhere nice for dates, but my commitments are sucking life out of me. T.T Only managed to meet her for a dinner, but at least I brought her to eat her favourite 小笼包! The queue at Ding Tai Fung @ JEM was so insane, we queued for close to an hour?! But okay, we are willing to do anything just to eat these yummy little things!

(红油抄手)

These dumplings are the bomb; they are so much nicer than the ones at Paradise Dynasty eh! Over dinner, we were just chatting about the girls' topics. LOL. About school, about work, about boys, about life in general. We reminisce about the past, going back to our secondary and JC days. We really come a long way omg.

(蛋炒饭)

We got one plate of plain fried rice each because we don't want to over order and end up wasting food. My appetite has been much smaller since I came back from Korea, hahaha. I guess it is a good thing. :D I need to watch out for my waistline.

Thanks Hui Qi for being such a gem, for being the best friend you can be. Happy birthday babe! 💕

Sometimes it is the smallest thing
that saves us: the weather growing cold,
a child's smile, and a cup of excellent coffee.

I'm not a mind reader baby, speak up.

Our Changi Airport Terminal 4 has finally finished all construction works! :D Two months back, they were having an Open House for the terminal, so guess which auntie joined the queue to check out the terminal!

Yup, you need to register for tickets to go. But no worries, it's free! It just determines your time slots to head down. You don't want a congestion rights! (:

(Magnificent display)

This artwork is called the Petalclouds, and it is a grand-scale kinetic structure. How do I know? Because there was a quiz, and you have to complete at various stations to redeem vouchers/gifts at the end! Hahaha, but the vouchers a bit useless because you can only use it at the airport itself?!

(Cleaning Machines)

I thought these gigantic cleaning machines were very fascinating. LOL, they are damn cute?! And behind them, there some cashless vending machines wth. You can buy your beverages or snacks using Ezlink card, which is quite cool but also quite inconvenient because they do not allow us to pay in cash/coins. What about people (e.g. Tourists) who have yet gotten a card???

(Immersive wall)

We just sit there on some benches watching the LED display. The display showcases Singapore's skyline and they were really superb! This art aims to entertain passengers waiting at the security screening queues, but I thought there wasn't a need for that because the new technology employed for the security screening is really fast and seamless.

(Snowflakes/flowers display)

Wasn't able to walk through the display because they were still renovating. But the structure looks magnificent and elegant LOLOL, damn pretty! We tried going up the escalator to the second level to get a bird eye's view, but were stopped by the police officer. Zzz. Unfortunately, the other floors were out of bounds to everyone. T.T

(Peranakan shophouses)

I thought it was a good mix of technology and heritage in the new airport terminal. For the other terminals, the concept was mostly focused on futuristic, so I guess by bringing back heritage, it is a timely reminder for all of us to remember who we are and celebrate the diversity of Singaporeans.

The shophouses showed various traditional brands (老字号) such as Bee Cheng Hiang and Bengawan Solo. The design really invokes a sense of nostalgia in all of us.

Every fifteen minutes or so, there will be a short film that will start playing on the Peranakan shophouses display. Some technology cool shit there LOL. It was a love story about two people from different races, and were acted out by various Singaporean artistes such as Adrian Pang. I feel that this is really a good representation of Singapore and its Peranakan heritage and multi-ethnicity!

(Trees in the airport)

It was such a cosy corner to just sit down and rest because we were all so tired from walking around. Did I mention that the terminal is damn huge. T.T We got two plush toys in the end because we won some mystery gifts LOLOL. And we each walked away with a travel pouch because we signed up for Changi membership. I love freebies!!

Overall, it was a good experience at Terminal 4 and I cannot wait to start taking flights from there! Korean Airline is shifting over there at the end of October, hmmm...

(White beehoon)

Since we were at the vicinity, we decided to headed to Changi Village for dinner. White beehoon, here I come! There's plenty of fish slices for $6! Pretty worth it (:

Got my favourite goreng pisang also, damn delicious luh. The banana will melt in your mouth. That's probably the only fried thing that I like. Last week, my tutee's mother fried banana for me also but it's not that nice compared to Changi Village's! I think cause she used less oil LOLOL. Okay luh, healthier choice.

People who talk less frequently notice more.

Was discussing about job prospects with the groupmates and gosh, they made me so nervous about not being able to find employment T.T Technically I still have one more year to graduation, but sighs the nearer the day comes, the more fearful I get.

Feeling so lost, really. It seems as though there wasn't really a right answer to all the questions I have, like how long in advance should I start applying for jobs, or how much salary should I ask for etc. I don't even know what industry do I want to get into. T.T I'm indeed a little lost sheep.

Suddenly my future looks bleak.

(Ice Lemon Tea)

Dragged the family to Ichibanya for dinner because I was craving for some Japanese curry. And to be honest, I don't think it is really worth the price. The drink is really small ah?!

(Seafood Curry)

This looks so pathetic. You can actually taste the seafood, but they are cut into so small pieces that it looked invisible. LOL. Okay luh, but I wouldn't order it again in the future.

(This one gets too jelat after a while)

Is jelat the correct word use? But anyways, I was so sick of the chicken cutlet halfway, that I just totally give up. T.T Fried things and me really don't match.

(Ice cream desserts)

Happiness is when you realized the set meal comes with a scoop of ice cream. But awkwardness is when you paid and walked out of the restaurant only to have the waitress shout at you and make you come back for the ice cream.

(Yogurt Berry Shaved Ice)

And when you decide that ice cream is not fat enough, you thought you could eat this for dessert. But sighs, should have just stick to Mango Shaved Ice. Gosh. Why are we feeling adventurous that day and wanted to try new flavours?! This is at the Taiwanese shaved ice dessert shop located at Westgate by the way.

(Sticky Wings)

Sorry for the ugly photo because my family didn't allow me to take photos until they finish eating. T.T This was the new eatery that replaced 4 Fingers at Westgate. But what for, seriously. The concept and everything is the same lehs?! Even the food taste similar.

We ordered 3 wings each and it was not bad! But personally, I prefer 4 Fingers. LOL. Anyways, I went on their first day of opening, and they were having some promotion for it. $1 per piece! What a steal!

Word of caution: the spicy one is no joke. Even my mum thinks is spicy, means it really is spicy. T.T

All she ever wanted was magic; the kind she could finally believe in.

Busy days are just starting.

I had midterms last week for three days (Monday to Wednesday) consecutively. I was wrecked by the papers/professors, but I only have myself to blame for not studying hard enough (ie. did not read the textbooks) sighs.

Thursday. I reached school at 8.30am to edit my project video. I was so hardworking that I slept at 3am the night before trying to analyze and restructure the video outline. It was so tiring but I managed to drag my exhausted body to the badminton courts for a 2h game session with Dewei, Jamie and Licheng. Barely finished my Subway lunch in 15 minutes (sorry I eat slow) before I rushed for a tutorial, followed by a tuition session afterwards. What a rush.

Friday. Nearly was late for a client meeting because I overslept, what even. I slept for 11 hours. T.T There seemed to be more work to do after the meeting, noooo. Afterwards, I joined the rest of the group members for lunch at Salmon Samurai.

(Glorious bowl of salmon mentaiko)

Didn't know there was such a good place in Tanjong Pagar! No regrets for travelling all the way down so early in the morning. It was so delicious, I wished I knew about this place earlier. $10.90 for the bowl with onsen egg ohyeahs!

Rushed for MINDEF Career Networking session afterwards. I was so nervous because I was going alone and it was my very first networking session ever so I don't know what to expect? Thankfully, it went well! My entire table was filled with people who don't know each other, so we were able to interact and network.

It was not bad because everyone was so friendly. The tea session was informative and gave me huge insights. The food was good because they even served smoked salmon!

(Dinner at Genki Sushi with Vivian)

Salmon overload for the day. Hahaha! My third meal with salmon for the day. Gosh. Finally meeting this shit Vivian after so long, and we were back at Genki because the both of us were too poor for Itacho. Noooo. But okay, Genki was good too!

(The rubbish girl demanded for dessert)

Trying a new flavour - cheesecake which tasted not bad! Hehehes. (: Reminiscing our days at Korea when the shop started playing familar Korean songs. LOL.

What a wonderful day.

You're a sky full of stars, I'm gonna give you my heart.

(Midnight Runners)

I recently caught this movie called Midnight Runners which is an action comedy film about two Korean National Police University students (acted by Park Seo Jun and Kang Ha-neul) who witnessed a kidnapping.

Authorities and the higher-ups were not able to do anything, so the both of them decided to embark on their own investigation to solve the kidnapping case. The movie was hilarious; my stomach was hurting throughout the entire movie from laughing too much LOL. Yet it was very heartwarming because despite being amateurs, they were both very passionate in their work and dedicated to helping the weak. Shuai! (:

(They looked so awkward here LOL)

Thanks my #SEOUL不下来 clique for asking me out to watch this fantastic movie. It was a tiring week at school, and this movie was a timely reminder to just relax and slow down life. :D

(I miss us)

Hahaha, really glad to make this bunch of awesome friends (Jiashu, Vivian and Regine)! :D Looking forward to our next meetup. Hehes!

(Chococone)

Got a chococone on my way home to celebrate the end of the week (Hahaha, I have no school on Fridays)!

Come lay with me for hours
so we can talk thousands of
nothings which mean millions
of something.

Monday, October 2, 2017

You're a beautiful kind of madness, a misunderstood truth.

Overwhelmed.

So exhausted to the point that you mixed up your midterm dates. LOL, what a joke. Thankfully I noticed it yesterday (one day before the exam), so I still had time to study and prepare for it. T.T

And this morning on the day of the exam, I actually left house without my pencil case. In the end I had to u-turn back home to retrieve it. Gawd.

Updates: I just finished the midterm. It was so confusing!! I cannot understand the questions T.T Regine and I were discussing about our answers and we realised we have quite different interpretations of the questions. Goodness. Dear Dr Jung, will you be on the same wavelength as me??

Prays. This is a freaking 20%, I cannot screw this up.

(Boat Noodle)

Throw back to last week's shoot for NM4883D. Hmm, it was a good day because it was my first time in a LAN shop. And nope, unfortunately I'm not there to play, but there for work sighs. It was a productive day because we shot a lot and I finally got to try my hands on using the camera. Hahaha, so difficult to use but I will try my best! :D

Lydia recommended this Thai restaurant at POMO (wth, I didn't even know such place exist). It is a legit Thailand restaurant (I believe) and their boat noodles is really not bad! :D Shared a bowl with Regine because I had late breakfast and I didn't want to screw up my weight LOLOL.

(Pizzahut)

There was this other day whereby I went out for lunch with the sister, and we went Pizzahut because she wanted to try their new cheesy 7 Loaded Puff. But sighs, what a disappointment. I hate the puffs actually, the texture is like bolo bun, which is something that I don't like sighs.

(I only like the drink and soup)

What a waste of my $35. Could have been better spent elsewhere.

Speaking of money, I am going to stop buying my MRT concession because I have been a fan of buses recently. LOLOL. (: It really is more convenient to bus home from school LOL. Because there's usually seats HAHAHAHA And I don't have to squeeze with the rest of the NUS population. Hmmm.
