This was a super throwback post. Hahahahas! (: Procrastination just got the better of me.
(PDG 09/13 Girls' Chalet)
Hahahahas! So glad that me and Manda had the impulse to organise this chalet because we had such great fun before university starts. Psssh, this was the first time that I actually organised a class event (even though it was just co-organised), but I felt so proud of myself after the entire thing. (Y)
(Starbucks' white chocolate yuzu chiffon cake)
So before we meet the girls, I met Manda first after work to head to Bedok Mall for lunch. I dragged her along because I haven't been there before and my 'Dora-the-explorer' instinct decided to kick in. Hahahahas! (: As usual, we couldn't decide what to eat, and so we just went to chill at Starbucks. And just nice, Starbucks was having a one-for-one cake promotion. Whoopie! :D
After 'lunch', we walked over to Downtown East, D'resort, under the scorching hot sun, thanks to Manda because she didn't want to take the bus. Why sia?!
(Chalet's lobby that looked so high-class)
(Our room!)
(The BBQ area which is directly outside our room)
So I was super excited at the sight of out chalet room because it really did looked and smelled like a legit hotel room, with the lighting and facilities and all. And it costed only $280+ for two nights (if I didn't remember wrongly).
P.S. Pardon Manda's face in all my photos. She really need to maintain and stop appearing in all my photos!
First day: BBQ night
So we checked in late afternoon and only had time for BBQ dinner. BBQ was a success even with all girls! (: But this was one of the rare few occasions that I actually stood near the fire to help out. Proud of myself! Yay! :D
(Jocelyn hard at work)
Special thanks to Jojo and Evelias for starting the fire. It was really tough job. :3 Thanks Yiran for being helpful and helping us to bring margarine and ice tray and everything, and reminding us to bring lighter to start the fire. (I actually forgot about it omg). Thanks to the rest who helped to prepare and barbeque the food. Life's great!
Night was even better because Manda decided to bring up all her mind games (that she played during psychology camp), so she had fun trying to make us guess the trick to her mind games. And she definitely made all of us looked like idiots trying to figure out the game omg. It was fun though!
Played other games like Murderer and Cards against Humanity, as well as 中级密码 amongst others. Then we had a mini heart-to-heart talk session whilst playing Truth or Truth :P Glad to know the other clique better. :D
Second day: Wild Wild Wet (WWW)
Woke up late because we slept at around 3plus the night before and everyone was just so shag. After a long nua-ing session in the room, 6 of us decided to head out to WWW. We have 4 free tickets, so thankfully we only need to buy 2 tickets and divide among the 6 of us. #typicalsingaporean #cheapskate
(Our faces before WWW)
WWW was fun with friends. The rides weren't as exciting as compared to Adventure Cove. But the plus point is that there is practically no queue and the water level is lower (which is better for me because I cannot swim). The layout of the theme park is similar to Adventure Cove, eg. both have the lazy river and the tsunami. And also WWW is cheaper than Adventure Cove! Hahahahahas! (:
But there was this 90 degrees drop ride (I forgot the name) that seemed very very scary at first, but after I tried it, I find to be alright! So practically they made the whole setup very frightening - you have to step in this 'container' where the ground below you will give way, and you fall at free fall of 9.82ms^2. :/
(Free polaroid service by the staff)
Too bad there's only one polaroid, and after multiple scissors-paper-stone session, Manda gets to keep it. Hahahahas. My legs looked super tanned in the polaroid and I have no idea why?!
(Photo that everyone can keeps)
Reasons why I prefer taking photos using phone. Hahahahas! (: Thanks Xingyu, Evelias, Amanda, Kaiyuan and Yeeying for making my virgin WWW outing fun. Hahahahas!
Had tzechar for dinner (which doesn't taste that great overall, but the curry fish head saved it) at Downtown East. Then we went NTUC to buy some alcohol (my virgin attempt buying myself) for a drinking session in the night.
So armed with drinks, we played many games (thanks to Kaiyuan for conducting, she's the best!). My favourite was Resistance. Hahahahas! (: I was pretty blur and everything, always getting the wrong Merlin and stuff omg. #isuck #ifailedinlife
Slept earlier that night. Cause alcohol just makes everyone feels like sleeping. Hahahahas! :D
Day three: Break chalet
Technically we were supposed to check out by 12pm, and we really did nua in the room and checked out at 12pm. Hahahahas! (: We did nothing much except packing, packing and more packing. Went our separate ways after chalet because the other clique wanted to go Changi Village for lunch but I'm just too tired to carry all my barangs there.
Headed to Jurong East with Manda for a lunch at Hot Tomato, before rushing home. Because my chalet was a few days after my psychology camp, so it made me felt as though I spent 2 weeks sleeping outside. I really missed home, my bed especially. (A reason why I don't stay in halls) :/
(Starbucks' almond coffee chiffon cake)
Since the Starbucks' promotion was still on-going, I grabbed 2 slices of the cake to bring home as supper for my family. #filialpiety hahahahas!
So in conclusion, it was a great and fun-filled chalet. I wouldn't have imagine that we will have such great fun without any awkwardness. I was initially against the idea of inviting them (it was supposed to be a clique chalet but Evelias complained that it was too expensive) because I am a weakling for awkward situations. But thankfully I did, because I really enjoyed myself thoroughly. Saded that the guys were busy defending our country that they could not join us. Next chalet please!
We used to have it all,
but now's our curtain call.
So hold for the applause,
and wave out to the crowd,
and take our final bow.
