Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

Last Monday well-spent with this lovely. :D It has been long since we last met up, but I'm glad that things remain the same. Thank you for being my low-maintenance bestie. Loveyou truckloads!

First stop: Bowling

Played three rounds of bowling and my hands got so sore (I know I'm weak LOL) that I had to call for a stop. Hahahahas! My bowling still sucks as usual, hands somehow cannot go straight, so there are plenty of gutter attempts. But hey, at least I got two strikes rights! :P I actually got a video of my 'strike' attempt (P.S. It was first try succeed hahahas!), but I am too lazy to find/upload the video here. #lazyyanqi

Second stop: KTV

(Teoheng @ Woodlands)

Hahahas, unleashing our passion for singing once again. Really enjoy singing with this girl because she don't judge me when I go off-tune or break voice hahahas! But she ah, really Jay Chou fan. Serious. First 20 songs all Jay Chou, and I had to pretend pretend to insert other songs inside. Hahahas! :D Loving the IU's Good Day cover we always do during our singing sessions. I swear when we hit the high notes, the door is shaking. Hahahahas!

Lunch @ Pizzahut

(X-men Pizza)

Why does this regular sized pizza looks like a personal pan pizza? Sighs, and the crust doesn't even have cheese. T.T Fortunately at its price, the pizza still taste delicious. Or maybe I am too famished that day? hmmm....

Third Stop: Movie Date (Civil War)

(Did Cathay change their ticket style? Or is it just that I am too slow LOL)

JJ was saying how wonderful the movie was, so I dragged Huiqi to watch it with me. Throughout the entire movie, we were freaking lost because the movie scenes are quite messy, and honestly I don't get the plot. But LOL, we finally understand the show after the credits roll. LOL, are we dumb or dumb? No doubt, the action scenes are fantastic though. *thumbs-up*

Dinner @ Pastamania

(Featuring my all-time favourite seafood zuppa and I forgot what Huiqi ordered, must be something weird that's why I cannot remember)

I remember the days when we frequently patronise Pastamania because of the student meal promotions and all, so it is considered cheap for a Western meal. However, we ate it so frequently that I started to boycott the restaurant, too sian already omg. Now we are missing it. Hahahas! No other restaurants serve my seafood zuppa x.x

(Because we don't have many photos together)

Thanks for the belated birthday celebration although I haven't receive my present LOLOL. Kiddingz, we went shopping for my present and I couldn't find anything I like. T.T Put on hold first only arhs, I still want my present! :DDD #shamelessyanqi

Something don't feel right
because it ain't right,
especially coming up after midnight.
I smell your secrets and I'm not too perfect
to ever feel this worthless.

Too much gravity to feel the highs.

Tremendous stress made me broke down yesterday. It is funny how I managed to survive finals but I could not survive post-finals. Wth. T.T What's wrong with me. Sighs, the pressure of my money running low, like really low; the pressure of not securing a job yet; the pressure of needing to study for my placement test yet I just could not find time/mood to study; the pressure of volunteering at SGH that I am so sick of but I shall persevere; the pressure of going out with friends so many times when I just want to nua at home and sleep; the pressure of planning my holiday trip and at times like this, I hope that I can jolly well just cancel the trip so I don't have to plan my itinerary or pack my luggage. Arghs. But I know I'm going to regret saying this. LOL, ignore me. I still want my holiday trip. ć…ˆè‹ŠćŽç”œ hmm. The pressure is real. T.T

Enough ranting. I'm fine now.

Meeting babe Amanda on two different days for the same event: SGH volunteering. Sighs. So freaking sick of this entire program, but ohwell, I will persevere because I only left 4 more sessions! Omg please end soon. This is sooo torturous T.T

Day 1:

We did morning shift and went out for dinner. :D Enjoyed this double chocolate frappe from McCafe which is surprisingly not bad (and so much cheaper compared to Starbucks LOL). But sighs, I realised that it is quite hard to find McCafes around in Singapore?! But ahh, don't know what they use to make the drink because the ice like forever won't melt. T.T

(Because McCafe has 1-for-1 promotions that day)

(Hot Tomato for dinner)

Hot tomato is still my all-time favourite because student meal $9.50 nett. HAHAHAHAS! (: #cheapos How I wish it comes with the soup of the day! I was craving for mushroom soup so badly that day sighs.

Day 2:

Met babe for lunch first before heading to SGH. Went home quite late at night but lucky the bus is still operating. Phew!

(Griddy for lunch)

Our new found restaurant located in Westgate. LOL! (: $10.90 for lunch set meal, I guess it is worth it? There's a main, soup of the day as well as vegetable fries with nachos sauce! :D The both of us ordered the tom yum pasta which is delicious but I think the chicken is so-so. I was pretty full but I couldn't finish the chicken hmm.

Thanks babe for persevering with me for this SGH shit. Yes, we signed up initially because we feel that it will be interesting to observe first-hand the hospital operations and functions. But ohwell, 10 sessions a bit too much ah. Is it we legs training because we have to stand for 7-8 hours if we do morning/afternoon shift? I still find it unbelievable that we actually manage to survive 9h of standing during our night shifts :3 And worst still, we have to type it out. T.T Arghs. Super time-consuming and mentally/physically draining sighs.

Let's close our eyes and
make our own paradise.
Little we know of it,
still we can try,
to make a go for it.

Every breath that is in your lungs is a tiny little gift to me.

Yeahs, I know it is tomorrow, but Happy Mother's Day in advance!

(Ripped from Tumblr)

Recently, I kept seeing the #iluvmum challenge everytime I on the television. I think it is quite innovative in an attempt to encourage children to express their appreciation towards their mothers, especially during this special occassion. However, this is too cheesy for me and I cannot do it. Hahahas! :D Oops! Anyways, using action to prove is better than just words rights! :D LOLOL #excuses

I celebrated Mother’s Day in advance with my family last weekend at A Pang Steamboat Seafood @ Commonwealth / Queenstown area. Hahahahas, :D It is located in a hawker center, so there isn't any aircon, but the taste is good! Worthwhile to sweat while eating. Hahahahas! :D But I swear I was really sweating like a mad pig, because of the heat from both the fire and the weather. T.T Poor me.

(A spread that serves 4 people)

(The soup is filled with many, many food. Yumz!)

(Pork Ribs which is meh)

(Prawn-paste Chicken which is even more meh)

Hahahas, I guess one can eat their steamboat but their tzechar is really not as delicious, hmm okay, considering they are specialising in steamboat. Their soup base is really naturally sweet, and we didn't get thirsty after the meal (little MSG, good!). Hahahas! :DDD Scrumptious meal!

Anyways, recent updates on my life: I am currently jobhunting. Fingers crossing that someone would call me for an interview / hire me straightaway soon, because I lazy to find jobs already but I need money. If only money will drop from the sky to satisfy my needs! >.< At the same time, I am planning my Hongkong itinerary but sighs, this is so torturous T.T I also recently started watching Descendants of the Sun, the highly-raved Korean drama starring Song Joong Ki, and I finally understand what's the wooha about now. It's really fabulous omg!

I'm living for the dead and the broken.
And through the ashes I have spoken.
All the strength I have was stolen.
But through the ashes I have spoken.

They tried to bury us, but they didn't know that we are seeds.

Here comes the long-awaited Summer break! :D Finally ended all my exams?! Woots! After so long omg, that feeling when everyone finished their exams and you are staring at their snaps and wishing you are outside enjoying instead of cooping at home and studying T.T My last paper was meh, I was totally numbed towards it already, just wishing that everything will end quickly. I tried my best although the questions made me go wtf because they are really out of the world, but okay whatever. Just pray for the best. :/ It is the start of Summer! *screams internally*

(Ripped from Tumblr)

Besides, yesterday was a totally horrendous day because stupid Dewei made me go check my group project marks and I realised that some idiots marked me down and I only got 90% of the grades. I don't really think I only deserved 90%, someone please explain to me. Zzz. Hate them. Is it so competitive that people have to step on the top of others? >.<

And because I saw my NM2104 results are marked (by that, I mean the median/highest/lowest are out, not my grades) and I was disappointed for not seeing what I hope to see. Ohwell. T.T The worst part is, super kaypoh me decided to click into my psych gradebook and saw something really, really bad that I don't want to see. Wtf seriously. No more psychology for me, no more. No one truly understand how I feel for the amount of effort I put in for this because I don't want history to repeat itself. Nonetheless, thanks Manda, JJ and L for their comforting words. But still, I hate myself for not being able to deal with psychology?!

Sighs okay whatever. 26 more days before results are out. Dreading this zzz. :3 But first, let me enjoy.

Today's highlights:

(Sukiya Lunch Buffet with Amanda)

Had cravings for Japanese steamboat, and so here we go! We ordered 12 plates of meat in total but I guess we didn't order enough to cover the costs of the buffet? Actually, I'm not sure. Hahahahas! But woohoo, the Japanese soup base and udon are exceptionally tasty! *thumbs up* One thing I dislike about the buffet is the small variety of food items available. There are practically only vegetables, vegetables and more vegetables. Fishballs, meatballs, tofu and noodles. Ahh, but okay for the price we pay... (student lunch buffet @ $15 after GST/service charge). :D

Then we went shopping for abit at Bugis+ but I didn't spot anything I like T.T Okay nevermind, save money. Hahahas, how can I spend when I haven't even start working rights! *self-comforting* Okay, we grabbed a cuppa of Starbucks each, because 1-for-1 promotions going on. LOL! :D

Headed over to Timbre+ with Amanda to meet Weina. I practically had a shock of my life because the place is totally not what we expected it to be. Open-spaced, Kopitiam style, Kopitiam food. Hmm, maybe we should do our homework first before heading there. Or maybe it is still too early in the day. Sighs, disappointed, we decided to head to another place for dinner and woots! Off we go to Genki Sushi! My virgin experience there, but I was amazed the entire time. Hehes!

(They provide green tea powder instead of the sachets)

(The plates of food were delivered via this amazing train-like machine travelling on the main conveyor belt)

Okay, this is a damn innovative technology. Or maybe I'm just slow. I didn't have a clue that it was already implemented in Singapore. Hahahas! So it is like when you order the food from the iPad, they will deliver the food using this bullet train machine which is travelling on the main conveyor belt, and it will slow down and gradually come to a stop in front of you. So when you unload the food onto your table, you can click a button to send the train back to the kitchen. Interesting rights! The service is quite fast and efficient. :D

(The sushi are priced reasonably)

(Lobster Salad Sushi which I find it to be okay okay only)

I think I will go back to Genki Sushi for a second time. The sushi is delicious (their soba is just meh), the ambiance is good to chill with your friends/family, the lighting is great for pictures-taking, the price is reasonable. :DDD So glad we tried this place! Next stop, Nunsaram Korean Dessert Cafe.

(Chocolate Banana Bingsu)

I went to this place a couple of times, and tried many different flavours. I concluded that the Chocolate Banana to be my favourite. :D It is not that sweet, but I don't like the cream on it. Hahahahas!

(Amanda's face so crunched up)

Hahahas, attempted an artistic shot but to no avail. Poor lighting, poor pouring skills (HAHA Amanda), poor phone quality. But nonetheless, a great day spent with my babes! :D I think we ate too much, time to go on a diet?

Never regret a day in your life:
Good days give happiness;
Bad days give experience;
Worst days give lessons;
Best days give memories.

Salted wound.

I came across this good read which I can totally relate to. Hahahas guys, just to let y'all know how low-maintenance am I as a friend. :D

What I Wish My Friends Knew About My Busy Schedule
By Brandi Johnson

For me, having a completely packed schedule is the most rewarding, exhausting, and emotional enduring part of college. It requires a lot of prioritizing, organization, and taking it one thing at a time to not go completely crazy! Most everyone is supportive, but sometimes having to say, "I'm too busy" can feel tiresome and like I'm not having the college experience that everyone else is. These are 6 things I wish my friends knew about the struggles of having a busy schedule:

1. Don't take it personally if I can't always go out.

When you are as busy as I am, sacrifices have to be made and unfortunately the Friday-night parties might be the first to go! But trust me, if I decide to stay in and study or am working late at night I am always wishing I could be there! FOMO is real. You have to realise that I know myself better than anyone else, and there are times that I can feel that I need to decompress. After an extremely busy week, sometimes I need to take a night in when I have absolutely nothing to do. It's not that I don't want to go out with you, it's that I need to listen to my body! You're always welcome to stay in and watch Netflix with me!

2. An invite is always nice.

There have been times that the excuse for me not getting invited to something is, 'we just figured you would be too busy'. I understand it may be frustrating inviting someone just to have them say no, but I promise when I can go I definitely will and it's always nice to feel wanted!

3. When you question why I have a busy schedule it makes me feel bad.

I have had friends who have been hard on me when I say I need to stay in and do homework or that I have work. Comments like 'well why wouldn't you study throughout the week instead of now?' or 'why don't you work less?' can be really hurtful for someone who doesn't have a choice. I wish I didn't have any priorities and that I could socialize whenever I wanted, but hearing someone be so disappointed makes me feel even worst.

4. My commitments are really important to me.

I've always had the mentality that having a ridiculously busy schedule is the only way to have a fulfilled life. (Don't worry, I am learning that this isn't the case!) I know you might not understand why I take on so many commitments, but all I can think about is my end goal. I have so many dreams in life and they constantly run through my head and are what push me forward. I know that you have warned me about taking on too much, and it something I am really working on, but also remember that where I am choosing to spend my time is really important to me!

5. Just because we don't talk everyday doesn't mean that I don't care.

Sometimes even picking up my phone feels like too much work after a long day, let alone texting or calling someone on it! I am sorry if we go a little bit without talking or if it takes me a little longer to reply to a text. I promise I am still thinking about you and will try to reach out as much as possible.

6. If you ever need me, no matter what, I will be there for you.

It doesn't matter how busy I am, if a friend calls me in need I would be there in seconds. I have many other priorities, but being there for my friends would always be first over everything! You are just as important as everything else!

Thank you for being there for me during the good, the bad, and most importantly, the busy.

I found solace in the strangest place
Way in the back of my mind.
I saw my life in a stranger's face
And it was mine.

There is a thin strand between words and swords.

Late birthday post because I just got the pictures from my meimei LOLOL, and because of the ongoing exams. But yay! :D 4 papers down, one more to go before I declare freedom. Papers are not well done, but oh whatever, I will face reality one month later when the results are out T.T Everyone please pray for me thank you very much. Hehehes! (:

Tada, showing off my birthday cake from Swensens. This is my very first ice-cream cake, but it shall be my last too. LOL, oops. Shit, I will never pay $50 for a stupid cake when I can get a normal one for ~$30 arhs! I rather spend money on buffets or something, hmm.

(But cool, got dry ice and all!)

But cannot deny the cake looks pretty and taste delicious. It is not creamy and not very sweet, which is totally my taste?! But still, too expensive ahhh. T.T Enjoying while I can. :D

(Blowing off my cake that has 19 candles initially. Is it forever 19? Hahahas! Why my family don't remember my age one!)

What's birthday without good food rights! Hehes, my birthday dinner at Porn's! :DD Sexy. Thai. Food. Whoops! The food is fantastic, my favourite Thai food restaurant up-to-date :DDD It is really damn delicious, go patronise guys, you won't regret.

(That rustic vibe, I like!)

(Because their drinks are one-for-one! But I only like their Thai Iced Tea LOL)

(Mouthwatering mango salad despite its unappetizing look)

(Plate of goodness)

(Weird-looking kangkong tempura, but it really taste good with the special sauce)

(Tomyum which is sour-spicy enough)

(Generous portion of chicken chunks in the green curry)

(Woowoo, tapioca for desserts)

I tried imitating this dish at home and it works! It is quite easy, just steam the tapioca and pour coconut over it. Err just that it is very hard to get the ingredients, by that I mean tapioca... T.T Sighs.

(Is it that delicious?! Not a single bit of food left)

Hahhahas, thanks mummy, daddy and meimei for the birthday treats. Blessed. :D

People say you don't know what

you've got until it's gone.
Truth is, you know what you had,
you just never thought you'd lose it.

Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer, so bring on the rain.

(Ripped From Tumblr)

Can't wait for the upcoming Hong Kong trip with my besties. Hehehes, it is less than a month away! *excited* Air tickets booked, accommodation booked. Shall finish planning for the trip after my finals. Wew! :DD

But sighs, I'm feeling numbed after my PL3236 papers. Did some stupid stuff which I myself cannot fathom (who the hell forget to give the final diagnosis after analysis? Yeahs, me. T.T) Well done, yanqi. You win already. Freaking 50%, and why my professor gave such an unbalanced weightage of marks - 80 marks in total for 4 short answer questions and 20 marks for 40 MCQs?! Wts. I'm deadmeat. Total joke.

I'm pinning all my hopes on my NM now. Please, please don't let me down.

I know if I could find the words
to touch you deep inside,

you'd give our dream just one more chance.
Don't let this be our last goodbye.
